Also, there are alternate recipes. Which will either change the way you produce something (Ex. Cast Screw - build Screw directly from Iron Ingot instead of Iron Bar) OR change the material that use to build something (Ex. Iron Wire - build Wire from Iron Ingot instead of Copper Ingot). So, keep exploring and getting those alternate recipes to help with your game.
wheres a good play to build such a thing?
Second: You need more basics and for doing this you should overclock your MK2 Miners to the fullest. With that you have more raw materials to go on with and it is normal to have the production scattered all over the place. Most of us started that way.
Third: Start to figure out how you want to carry all the neccessary items to a new location. You might want to use trains, or trucks or belt them miles over miles from one production to an other where they are needed.
Fourth: Don´t let you get worn out. If it is too much make small goals like "Today I´d like to rework all MK1 miners to full used MK2 production lines and then make a break. No need to rush here.
Fifthly: If that is all too much why not make a backup of your originial save game, put it aside and then activate advanced game settings (ags)? I mean the game should be fun and most likely you will come back to your original save one day to do it without ags.
And I guess there will be many more tips and tricks following up :-)
It all depends on your style. If you want to have everything in one place, transport all the raw materials to your main base and build your main base to process them. But sometimes it is more efficient to process the raw materials on site and transport the products back to base (or other bases to build/process further).
I suggest you unlock the Alien Technology in MAM. After you have Dimensional Depot, it'll help you a lot with your gameplay.
That is up to you. Some like big centralized factories and transport all the resources there, others like more and smaller factories...just a matter of taste. Rocky desert would be a good spot for a megafactory, but in general you can build that anywhere you want, in some places you just need to build higher up to get a lot of space.
Our approach is to agree on a certain amount we want to produce of a thing, for example 10 computers per minute, then build a multifloored factory with manufactories on top that make this amount. Then the next layer down we build the stuff that is needed for those and so on until you just feed the raw materials in at the bottom.
Take all those starting small bases and improve them. Are they on Mk1 miners while you have access to Mk2? Are they overclocked to match your best belt speed? Do you have at least one of everything being automated, even if badly, just to have it made when you need it?
If you're having issues with transportation then I suggest investing into the Caterium tree for the Zipline and couple that with the Power Tower research to create a personal zipline network that also runs power for you. You could also set up hyper tubes that go everywhere. Then there is also the option of setting up a train network which will help transport resources/you.
If you can't build large builds because you're waiting on something, congrats! You just found what to improve in your base.
I have also done a lot of exploring an almost finished the alien tech tree so i have started setting that up
I have huge power towers between the factorys already
thanks for the advice, I think i'm going to make a big factory in rocky desert, have small factory outposts at the locations producing basic resorces and components and then transport them to a center factory to make more complex parts
the issue is where to build said centre factory and trsnport
I have almost unlocked trains maybe thats a good idea
when you reach end of game with first rum, first map is now workshop for next map.
this is where you take a week or a month to plan out your next playthru.
My first play through i had 1 steel plate constructer and later upgraded to 4 but i needed to think bigger.
So when you have decent belts and better miners start woorkking.
Meaning find all iron nodes in your area. put all mining together. If you in have total (example) 600min from 5 miners you need 20 smelters to match the ore input.
if the output of a smelter is 30minutes and the input of a steel plate constructer is also 30min. you will have to make 20 constructorse.
When your complex is ready make another one for iron rods.
Then to the same for Copper pruducts
Then start to produce other proucts. how much depend on your output of your other factory.
i find the most expensive part to build a factory with that i want many of.
when doin the spreadsheet for that one part, add a building here or there to make more of this or that part to belt into useful storage with first part.
when finished with that mountain, find what parts you still need that are not found within the mountain you made and add small factories to the side.
when you automated all the parts to make factories,
have ammo and heals automated,
have a big powerplant built,
________. this is where imagination takes over. have fun.
