Spoil me lightly, I need to find 7 SAM

My doggos found 3 SAMs, but I need 7 more to have the possibility of finding the mineral with my scanner. Given the size of the map, I could spend dozens of hours before stumbling upon a few. So, if anyone could tell me where I can find some, I started my base in the giant trees forest, sequoia style. I don't need too much information, thanks!

There is a Water Biom in the northern Map. On top of one of the cliffs (in the east region of mentioned Biom) there could be a sam Node. Or in the East where the really big trees are.
Another chance there are many small chunks of any Ore/Mineral on the Map. You might want to look out for that either.

Thanks, guys. Somehow, despite doing a lot of exploration (well, relative to my limited gaming time), I never managed to find any SAMs lying on the ground, unlike the other minerals (I think I found all the others...).

SAM is or on a high platform, surrounded by lots of plants/trees, or in a deep canyon/cave

There might be a SAM node in the south of you were meteors might have hit the ground and left some crater´s as well. But enough of spoiling you though you are literally surounded ^^

Even if you're not in the area yet:
There is a SAM node in the grasslands.

There are three iron ore deposits in the center of the grasslands. From there south-southwest you will find a coal mine on a rocky plateau plus a Somersloop. Across the plateau in the mountain is a cave full of Stingers. The quickest way to reach it is via a platform bridge, so take plenty of iron plates and concrete with you.

Use map or just explore. Its not that hard to find them if you consider they are just hidden or hard to reach. So look for caves or some very high lands.

If you are familiar with one of the more popular starting areas in the rocky desert... the one at the bottom of the waterfall with 3 pure iron, 1 pure copper and a bunch of limestone.... at the top of the waterfall is a double lake with pure coal nodes... right in the middle of the smaller lake is an impure SAM node right out in the open. (More often than not you will spawn in here if you choose that Biome as your start).

This is my favourite starting area as it has everything you want early game in close proximity.

To south from northern forest, under red bamboo forest cliff at two huge waterfalls base (there are also 3 oil nodes near) a cave with MAM node.
If you will go from forest to east, cross natural bridge and enter rocky desert biom, you will meet 3-4 coal nodes. From them to the east exists huge cave with 3 quartz nodes and 1 mam node.
In nothern forest at small lake under huge cliff you can travel across natural bridge, enter cave passage and climb on crater lakes plateu. In the biggest platue in the center you will see MAM node. I also recommend to build there huge coal plant (with t2 miners and t4 belts you can create 7200MW coal plant of 96 generators on the edge of two crator lakes).
One more exists in cave (enter from the bottom of cliff) to the east from several coal nodes in eastern Nothern Forest, near forest of huge trees.
One MAM exists on one of spires on spire coast. Nice move would to fly on parachute from cliffs next to several ore nodes.

My short answer, caves and on the top of mountains, with one or two exceptions. I find the caves are easier to get to, but then again I made all the spiders and other beasties play nice.
