Sink Coupon Cost min/max question
Ok, so the wiki has formulas for how much coupons cost in normal items, as you get more coupons

And there is a formula for the coupon cost when sinking DNA. (a much less punishing formula, but i guess you cant AFK it)

But, I cant seem to find out, if they keep separate count of coupons, or if there is 1 total count of coupons?

*** For example, if I sink fabric, or concrete or whatever, until I earn 150 tickets. And I dont sink a single DNA, just saving them in a container. THEN if I sink some DNA items, will the next coupon cost only like 1 DNA (1st group of "DNA" coupons), or wiill it cost based on the formula for 150 coupons, meaning group 50, so 50,000 DNA points (50 DNA items)

Im pretty sure, it cannot be that convenient -- I suspect its going to use a single total count of tickets, but the way the wiki sections the 2 formulas, doesnt make it clear.

In my past games, I did a mix of items and DNA and didnt pay attention to the cost, so it was not clear from my existing saves, which way this works.

Im trying to min/max the ticket costs, so I can get the 1000 coupons for Golden Nut, without having to leave my PC running for months at a time.

Thanks!

Pretty sure Standard points is its own sink stack of coupons and DNA points is its own sink stack of coupons. That is why each has its own sink meter that says #amount before next coupon.

They're individual amounts. The escclating cost of completing a coupon is individual to the redemption method; Automatable parts get you coupons from and escalate the cost of the automatable method.

So, using your 'for example', yes, when you sink a dna item, the first coupon will cost 1 dna.

DNA points gets ridiculously time consuming after a while. You would be better off increasing production for 1000 coupons.

20,000 DNA points per coupon is not double but 4 times as many kills as 10,000. Just a third of that 1000 coupons could be around 10,000 kills. All of it might be closer to 100,000. And since fauna doesn't respawn immediately, you'll be waiting.

Also dont forget that bigger mobs give more parts, and with introduction of Somersloop boost, you can 4x that 1 part

With Constructor and Sommersloop you can turn:
1 [monster part] into 2 [monster ''pasta''] and then turn these 2 into 4 [Monster DNA]

They are separate. Also the points from alien capsules quickly scale up to ridiculous amounts. At the beginning they are a fantastic source and you can get dozens of tickets rather easily, especially if you use sommersloops to multiply your gains. But it will quickly scale up and before you know it you need a full stack of capsules just for a single ticket, and it only gets worse from there.

So whether you like it or not, if you want to get the most expensive stuff from the shop you will need to transition to sinking normal items. I recommend taming some lizard dogs, they regularly give you really expensive things that sink for hundreds of thousands of points a piece, and they don't give you just a single one at a time. I bought everything available in the store (except the trophies and statues) by the time I got to aluminium processing, just by taming a dozen dogs and periodically checking them for the good stuff to sink.

My current save is 66 hours (phase 3)
And between Sinking overflow and Animal DNA I was able to unlock everything in the shop.
Just setup a sink on a smart splitter set to overflow just before the storage container. I was just doing quickwire. Quartz and Silica, reanimated SAM, then switched to SAM Fluxes, with plastic and Rubber… I netted a ton of Animal parts just hunting HDDs, Slugs, Sloops, And spheres.

I’ll end up with the golden nut in no time.

Just to clarify, im not really worried about the first 700 tickets. or probably even 900. I did some math with the wiki formula, using just items, getting 750 tickets, is a cumulative cost of about 4 billion points. getting to 1000 is like 9.7 billion points. (so from 750 to 1000 is like 5.7 billion more)

Even sinking a million points a minute, each billion is over 16 hours.

So, my thinking is *IF* I can spend 16 hours hunting and get enough DNA to get the last 50 or so tickets, I can save myself entire days of playtime.

If each if the dna tickets at that point, cost just 1 dna (at first), then I should easily be able to get the last 200-300 with dna, just from the stuff I saved while making the mega factory.

But, if each dna ticket at the end is gonna start by costing 400 or more dna tickets, then its gonna be a lot harder to save up enough to make a meaningful dent in the total.

So, thats why I want to know --- AFTER Ive got 900 tickets from items. the items would be on group 300.

If I sink a dna then, does that count as "group 301" and cost 301 dna per coupon?
or does that count as "dna group 1" and cost only 1 dna per coupon?

It makes quite a difference, IF you save until the very very end.

Thanks!!

I found DNA point fantastic when combined with the oversloop process. You can quadruple your gains. I did a huge exploration session hunting slugs and HDDs, and got several stacks of remains in the process. It got me around 70 tickets.
Combined with normal items overflow sink (up to encased beam in terms of complexity) I unlocked everything in the shop by 60hours, much like Fenix

EDIT sorry I didn't understand your goal was golden nut, that requires knowledge above my paygrade. Your best shot would be to maximize ballistic warp drive production

Parts and DNA are on different counters, you can see it on the Sink display.
DNA's 1st coupon at 1000, then the 2nd coupon is 2000 and each DNA Cap is 1000 points.
I'm at 32000 for my next DNA coupon, that is 32 Caps for my next coupon
I think it just goes up 1 per coupon (meaning it should be 33000 for my next coupon)
