You have not completed the game, you only completed the narrative. I don't think anyone ever can complete this game. You may be "done with it" but how can you complete it?
I just completed phase 2 at 75 hours, though a lot of that time was relatively inactive in regards to progressing the game as I gathered artifacts and drives, planned productions(without Satisfactory Calculator), developed blueprints, etc. I've got all alternative recipes unlocked through phase 2, two power amplifiers, fully unlocked depot storage space and 60/m storage rate, all currently available store purchases unlocked besides statues and colors, constructed road networks spanning the Northern Forest and Rocky Desert, all factories are fully housed and structurally supported, all available constructor products through phase 2 are depoted at 60/m, all assembler products through phase 2 are depoted at 2 assemblers/m, all space elevator products are currently produced at 10/m.
None of this is necessary to complete the game, but I'm not here to complete the game.
That's... that's kinda how this genre goes?
You can "complete" Factorio in under 8 hours. Hell, according to google the current record is just under 83 minutes.
The Sink is effectively this games version of infinite research. Sandboxing is the games life.
Point is, make factories because you want to. I could just continue expanding my current factory, but it was getting cramped, and the underbus is a terrible mess. So I decided for no reason other than "because I can" to uproot everything, and make a newer, bigger factory where smelting and first tier processing is done off site and delivered by train. It's not even flying in the sky. I tried to find a spot in the grass plains where it could sit fairly close to the ground. It's at most I think 4 walls up, so it's pretty low down. Getting fluids delivered is going to be a bit of a challenge, but I'll deal with that when the time comes. Probably just fluid platforms for the specific manufacturing blocks that need them.
This is a simulator, you can simulate denuding this tiny planet (or section thereof) to make STUFF. Then send any EXTRA STUFF into the sinks.
No worry about pollution, or anything that you don't want to worry about.
Efficiency, beauty, killing all the nasty creatures, and yeah, there's a story (I do miss the you received a message from a father figure)
Play the game, enjoy the game? Play some more. But to complain (whine) about the story in a building/crafting game is just advertising as being two sandwiches short of a picnic
that's cool man. there still should be a 'default' game that checks all boxes that you are then free to adjust however you want. as it stands right now, the default satisfactory is too easy unless you make up your own challenges, but that's not very relatable between two players. it's funny to me how Factorio had this figured out immediately
Making up your own challenges is precisely what this game is about. Factorio, Dyson Sphere, and a few others have their own goals and should be enjoyed but cloning that game wasn't the Dev's goals.
I understand people have expectations of games, and when those games don't live up to their expectations they get upset however, the game was built based on the dev's expectations and expecting every game you buy to be exactly what you want just means you need to build a game yourself because you (not you personally) are being selfish. There was plenty of information out before release about how this game is not a clone of other games and that the story narrative was not the aim. People expecting an rpg are disappointed, but that is not the games fault, that's the purchaser's fault for not doing their homework. If KSP 1 was just about building a rocket and a plane, you could have that game "done" in an instant, their is no story in that one too. But this game is a lot like KSP 1. It is about overcoming the challenges you create and like KSP 1, learning from your failures. You don't need a narrative for games like that which makes it a perfect open ended game with endless variety. There is no point where you go, "there, I did it, next game please" and that is what I love about it.
Yea. there are other phases and stuff, but I want to build my train. I love the train system here (not as hard as train simulator) but I want to get around the continent on a train.
My personal goal: I want to make a train just to travel around the continent and visit some "cool looking places"
So I will not finish the space elevator anytime soon ;)
"most other people goals" (and part of mine) is make it efficient and compact as possible.
There are a bunch of 5x5 challenge (Tier 2 unlock) blueprint that people try to make as much as possible with the most "elegant" looking pattern as possible
completing would be 100% all achievements. and making all available products.
while collected all possible collection items, ourchase all store items etc. its doable for sure
