Power shard - big problem.
When the power shard became an ingredient, (For ionized fuel) it should be able to sink.

When i started to create Ionized fuel, i created few more shards, then its necessery, to keep them. Later i realised, it can not be sink, so when storage was full, it stuck whole production line.

I got a quantum encoder being stuck on those for my dimensional depot.
In someway it would be nice to sink them but now there is an extra challenge when making ionized fuel. Fix the factory without a sink.

I expect it's just one of those limitations you're supposed to work around. Much like how you can't sink fluid/gas byproducts... unless you package them first.

You'll have to process them into something you can sink.
Though I don't understand why it would stall the production line. Isn't the whole point that you're using some for Ionized Fuel? They would still get consumed at the same rate as before.

Well ofc i know how to solve this - to create exact number required for IF a sink overflowed ingrediens . Its really no problem. But its quite annoying. I built factory ONLY to make few IF for jetpack and shards to keep.

Make a storage crate or dimensional storage and feed the shards directly into this, put a smart splitter in front and have the overflow go off to the side. It'll fill up the container then go to make the ionized fuel. When you take some out of storage it will be replaced. You can make a buffer to prevent gaps in the line when you take a few shards out.

Problem is...do you realise, what needs to be done just to dispose overflowed power shards this way? :D I mean...making Ionized fuel "just for overflowed shards" is not easy process... :D

I thought you were already making the ionized fuel? Just cut back the shards to match what you are already making.

Then what's the issue?
It sounds like this entire factory exists purely for personal supply. The only thing you lose out on is extra points in the Sink.

I see no problem here. If the production stops, let them stop. IDK why would you want the production of the Shard to continue if you not gonna use it for anything else. If you gonna use it for Ionized Fuel? Use it. If the IF stops, the shard stops. What is the problem?

The only thing I can think of is that, your factory makes shards from by-products. So, the easiest thing to do is, sink those that make Shard, not the Shard itself. It should be easy enough. Just use the Smart splitter and overflow those items into the sink when the shard factories backup.

Yeah problem is, that i need both. I can not build it like "when shard storage is full, THEN it starts making fuel. :)

Anyway i solved problem in 2 easy steps
1) Go enough shards (i think 3000 should be fine) so i can make exat amount of shards needed for packed IF. If i accidentaly run out of shards, i can "boost" it for while again - still got overflows equal to overproducting shards
2) In case if i forgot, or do something wrong, wich disbalance making rocket fuel vs shards, i made direct live from encoder to IF rafinery. So in case of shard overflow, encoder will slow down, but never stuck production. :)

Lolz this is nothing like Nuclear where you need to do further gymnastics to get rid of nuclear waste into plutonium . In this case If the shard production stops cause its full let it stop , Ionized fuel is still being made .

Also, there is a recipe that uses shards, the end product you can sink, but i forgot the name.... and think it was an alt recipe

The fact that you want to sink is already equivalent to a full storage. Yes the shards you take out don't make fuel, but you were already not making fuel when the system clogs up. At least this goes back to automatically making fuel again when it catches up. A storage holds 2400 shards so you would have had it making fuel by now if you have 3000.

Edit: and if you need to refill the storage for some reason you just boost production temporarily like you just said.

You can use dark matter crystals which are sinkable for a stable ionized fuel production.
Get some hard drives. You also get more compacted coal per ionized fuel with the dark crystal alternate so more turbo fuel for the rocket fuel production.
In this way your shard production is seperated from your fuel production.
