It's not dark for me.... well unless I goes into a cave at night
also if enabled there is a setting right below it that lets you choose the type of lighting lumen will use. if you play around with this you might get something better (or worse) then you have now.
you can play with the gamma setting also.
ALSO Glolbal Illumination has a drop down menu with more options for brightness or "glominess". It's very easy to miss cause it's hidden, aside, from the Menu arrow indicator.
