Achievements MOD
Is there a MOD to enable Achievements?
I play with advanced settings enabled and use flying for building (hate the lack of build camera) but that disables the achievements.
Is there a MOD to bypass this?

No unfortunately, and the hoverpack is a good alternative. Although you get the hoverpack kind of late.

As mods aren't even compatible yet, the answer is a clear no.

Never been fond of hoverpack. It's good for exploration but I hated it for building in EA.

You are thinking of a jetpack. Hoverpack is literally designed for building since it only works near your power poles or powered structures. It keeps you suspended high in the air infinitely, you can control the height, and it also extends the range you can interact with things so you don't have to lower yourself to set up your machines or access storage.

It is exactly the same as playing with infinite flight, only caveat is you can only use it where you have electricity. And you have to unlock it. Alternatively you can give yourself one with the save editor at the start of the game if you don't want to wait until Tier 7. Just make sure you can supply the 100MW required to operate it, but that shouldn't be a problem even with biomass burners. Consider it a cost of convenience and playing with achievements

hehe You are actually right. I dropped the jetpack very early and never bothered with upgrades.

If there were a Mod to allow Achievments with the advanced stettings, it would also allow achievments with mods ...
and thus renders the achievments useless. Why not give every player all achievments by default? (last stentence is clearly meant as sarkasm)

As in the name Achievment, it says you have to achieve it and not to mod it.
Maybe with the exception of an achievment "Install and use a mod" :D

Achievements are always meaningless. Whatever a mod does won't change that. Plus mods won't disable achievements anyway according to the wiki. Achievements are on the same level as worthless Reddit points :WH3_greasus_rofl:

You are correct in that the achievements don't really mean anything if you just mod them in. but you are also forgetting that achievements in video games don't really mean anything anyway. At best, they give someone who loves the game a reason to continue playing after beating the game or completing some aspect of it.

As this is a game with no competative multiplayer mode or function- there really is no cheating. CSS and Steam/Epic already got your money, and your behavior can't mess up anyone else's game. All you are doing by "cheating" is reducing the value you would normally get from the game. All the "cheating" does is reduce the amount of hours you need/can play the game to get to your goal. Games are more valuable when they take up more of your time. that is the whole point of them after all.

Is using flying for building a cheating? That's definitely a matter of personal preference.
I don't really care for achievements, that's why I enabled flying but it's a nice "fluff" to have some highlights. ;)

"I really don't care for achievements"

creates a thread asking how they can earn achievements while using cheat settings

No such thing as "cheating" in this game no matter what people on this forum say. Whether someone spends 500 hours completely vanilla or 500 hours flying around the map building the base of their dreams, they both dedicated their time and effort in a game they both enjoyed for 500 hours.

hehe yeah, It definitely looks like that. :D
But I really am not bothered by achievelemts.

I was a bit skeptical starting 1.0 without mods because building tight factories without flying was a nightmare to me in early access. But I think the devs did a great job of improving the construction workflow so that you can get buildings to line up from ground level. It was easier yet when I picked up the hoverpack, but it was at least possible before that.
