All you can do is buy it on steam. Your saves can be transferred easily if not even automatically
I know how do you feel.,..
I did a similar mistake with Diablo 4 purchased at blizzard...
Luckily don't play diablo 4 anymore and don't want to.... As I found that is a bad game.... And now for Diablo 4 I only regret purchase in first place...
Back to satisfactory I took it on Steam, as impulse buy for a friend suggestion... At the time was thinking that I really don't like the genre but could give it a try....
And whoa... After years I'm still on it like first day
Then PAY the platform for the SERVICE you request.
What you are asking for is for STEAM to give you FREE access to their hardware infrastructure, and that costs money.
People have already explained to you that you can run the exe just fine.
CSS is not "gatekeeping" you or forcing you to start it through epic, just double click the exe file like in the old days. You don't need access to the internet, there is no DRM.
So if you want to use steams service, download servers, save syncronization etc, PAY for that service by buying the game on the platform.
Yes, that is exactly what you're suggesting. The fact that you consider this is beyond ridiculous and shows mindblowing levels of entitlement and/or complete lack of understanding of reality.
CSS did not sell you the game. Epic Store sold you the game. Neither Steam nor CSS are under any obligation to transfer the game. CSS, Epic and Steam are separate companies. CSS makes a product and Epic and Steam sell it.
Say, you bought a physical copy of a game on a disk from Game Store A, lost it or broke it. You can't go to a Game Store B and demand another disk because you already bough it elsewhere. They'll laugh you out of the door. You may get some luck asking Game Store A for a replacement but Game Store B has zero responsibility to give you another copy of the game.
You made a mistake. Own up to it. Don't put the responsibility on others to fix your own mistakes.
