Chainsaw not working

I just recently got this game with the release of 1.0 weirdly though once i unlocked and built the chainsaw i couldnt use it, i made sure i had fuel in my inventory as that seemed the most common issue people had, but that didnt help, i made sure i was walking up to tree's that became highlighted white, i tried m1, m2, and e, no idea what is stopping me from using the chainsaw, only thing i can think of is maybe you have to load the fuel into the chainsaw manually but i couldnt find mention of that being a thing, PLS HELP ME

you need solid biofuel, biomass will not work

As long as you have solid biofuel in your inventory then you should just be able to pull out the chainsaw and use it. Once a tree or bush is highlight you can then just hold mouse button for it to go through the cutting process

It only takes solid biofuel; is that the fuel you've got in your inventory?

thank you i didnt realise it needed a specific type of fuel, was just using biomass/wood/leaves
