Was doing a game with a friend who quit. He built quite a bit of stuff and it just doesn't fit my style and I want a fast way to restart without losing progress. I don't want to use the start options because it disables achievements.

Does the load editor on that satisfactory site work without disabling achievements?

Yes you can delete entire areas (with the choice of doggie bags (lots of crates so be warned there) if you wanna keep the mats.

All you have to do is load the save file (you might have to allow your File Explorer to see hidden holders since the AppData Folder in your user folder is hidden), do whatever you want to do and then save. That will download a NEW save file into your Download folder. Just move that file into your save folder and you are golden.

Oh man this saved me. I had a foundation stuck in the ground I could not remove! I totally forgot about the save editor and that saved me. I am thankful for this post even being here!

Used this over the weekend to wipe my entire base because somehow everything was off the world grid. I only kept the power plant which I will rebuild later on. I think I accidentally held CTRL on the next foundation and it slipped. I also forgot that leveraging the 1m foundations can cause you to be 0.5m off.... lesson learnt.... again
