Nuclear Power Question
I am about to unlock Nuclear Power in T8 in a few minutes, but as far as I understand it, I can not deal with nuclear waste - I read that maybe in T9 it will be possible. But even then there will still be waste and I have only one option to store it somewhere.

Does that basically mean, I am on a timer until I finish the game? Since at some point my storage, no matter how big, will run full. Or I contaminate the whole planet or just stop producing power.

Until now there was no real rush in the game (well maybe in the beginning before Coal was available, you would have to run further and further to get leaves for biomass). I don't like the idea of having to rush the game, just not to die at some point.

Or is it possible to deal with nuclear waste in some way, so that I can generate power forever without any side-effects?

You are able to deal with it at the end of T8 with "Particle Enrichment". You can then turn Uranium waste into Plutonium fuel rods that you can sink.

For now, continue with fuel power as this should be enough. If you haven't already, unlock the diluted fuel and heavy oil residue alt recipes.

Radiation isnt as much of an issue now that players have the hazmat suit. just build your facility out of the way and make a large storage for the waste. Once you unlock plutonium you can get rid of it. So your never stuck with it like in past versions of the game.

also you can now turn plutonium waste into ficsonium which creates no waste and with that the cycle is complete

Or you can flush the waste down the hubs toilet to destroy it it’s manual but works

You wanna calculate how much waste you generate per minute at full usage then design your storage to give yourself expandable hours of waste storage.

I've got an easy blueprint that gives me 20hr of storage per print (small reactor setup using 600 uranium, 72 reactors) and I've built my initial storage area way out at the edge of the map with about 500 in game hours of storage. I've got about 1000hrs in the game after multiple playthroughs. I'll never use it all xD I've stopped playing till ficsmas

also plenty of room to build enrichment factory if I ever want to sink it all
