Bolted Frame Alternate recipe
How would you guys rate this alternate? Should I rescan the hard drive?
This recipe is the one that makes modular frames use screws + reinforced iron plates rather than reinforced iron plates + iron rods.

It also produces at 2.5x the rate

Edit:
I should mention that I do have casting screws recipe. So I can get screws straight from Iron ingots

I'm planning to refactor my factory to bolted frame and cast screws now that I have both. I foresee my factory to be a lot sleeker and easier, BUT the only problem to overcome is that I have to move those massive amounts of screws somehow. I already use 2 x 480 /min belts and probably need a third one. But I have a factory with 42 constructors now and I can get rid of a lot of those if I switch. I don't need to, but I just want to.
Yep, bolted is a good recipe until mk3 miner milestone, then i prefer to swap it to steeled frame because now steel pipes are very cheap to make with new alt concrete recipe.

Avoid Bolted Frame. A little waste (120 vs 128 iron ore at 5/m) and you can do it just as well with Rods... so balance based on Ore Output.

With normal Mod Frames, you get 5 per Minute with 120 Iron Ore. You cant actually beat that unless you go Steeled Frame... which costs Coal, or more Iron with Iron Pipe...

Cast Screw is awesome to remove Rods, but screws are still dangerous due to quantities needed and belts available. 140 Screws/minute needs a Mk3 belt... for one Assembler making Bolted Frame... and 280 does not fit on a mk3 belt (270)... unless you are going to run the Bolted Frame Assemblers at 80% power.

Wrong. You can use steel rod to get much more modular frames out of the same resource. Don't forget the pure iron recipe that mulitplies with (13/7) combined with solid steel.

lalala, steel cast screws....

If you do not have Steel Screws then screw it. Two constructors with steel screw overclocked can pump out > 600/min. Which makes screws mostly usable

Any solution that eliminates screws is usually a win

this exactly in a different way....
it really depends on what you've got going when it comes to screws.
they are a pain in the rear end to produce until you get to the really high end belts but it is completely possible to work with them, even with MK3 belts if you feed them into the production line the right way.
any recipe that requires screws is going to be harder than most recipes to balance out just because of the sheer volume needed.

Stitched Iron Plate all the way. Combine it with Pure Iron Ingot, Iron Wire, Iron Pipe, Encased Industrial Pipe, Wet Concrete, and Heavy Encased Frame, and you can make 10 (20 with 16 Somersloops) Heavy Modular Frame with 2 250% overclocked pure iron ore nodes and 3 200% overclocked normal limestone nodes. I'm doing it now in the rocky desert near the waterfall. I went and built some train track for about an hour after I finished the factory and came back to an almost full industrial storage container. I stacked 2 of them and connected the overflow to a awesome sink. Feels good, man.

bolted recipes are in the "faster output but more resource cost" side of alternates. It's fine if you want to crank things out faster. It's only if you're doing the ultra end game giga factory where you want to use the "less resources per output" type of alternates.

At the cost of coal...

and OP said... they had 'cast screws', so how many other alt recipes are you asking them to go get???

If you are not min/maxing, bolted frame is NOT worth it.

Given that cast screw has still the same ratio of iron:screw as the default way, it is still a no in my book.

Luckyly steeled frame doesn't do that.
With iron wire and stitched plate you allready get (6+102/343) frames out of 120 iron ore.
With pure iron ingot it gets even more, with steel rod you lower the iron demand a little bit to ask one coal per modular frame.

All of them.

Keep it in the list or it will come back in some other hard drive roll. At least you have it there and out of the way now, and the next hard drive will have something different.
