Bolted Frame Alternate recipe
How would you guys rate this alternate? Should I rescan the hard drive?
This recipe is the one that makes modular frames use screws + reinforced iron plates rather than reinforced iron plates + iron rods.

It also produces at 2.5x the rate

Edit:
I should mention that I do have casting screws recipe. So I can get screws straight from Iron ingots

Screws are such a pain to deal with I'd probably reroll it.

it really depends on what you are using more.
if you have those specific resources more than the others? yes, worth it...a lot even.
if not? then just NO, like hard, hard NO!
and that goes for almost all alt recipes, the really OP ones are obvious...i hope.

Honestly, w/e it is that has the highest output than the original or other recipes, usually is what you should pick. And for Bolted Frame, I think that's the highest one of the recipes for Modular Frames but that's what I remember before the official release to 1.0 so there could be others for all I know, so keep that in mind, I would hate to be wrong!

That said, Screws tend to be VERY costly since it requires a lot but as you get into Refineries, there will be alternative recipes that allow for the production building to then use Water and Iron Ore to make MUCH more Iron Ingots to help with iron related products, including Screws.

Again, just matter of if you're able to set it all up in that moment's notice of the sudden shift in processing everything up to w/e it is your end result is.

Just no. You need more resources per frame than the standard one. Steel Frame is better imo.

see...that depends on which alt recipes he has got for screws and how many he can vommit out per minute versus the standard recipe.
it does not always boil down to what he can make per cost vs what he can per minute providing that he can cough up the required resource.

Bolted frame has one and only one benefit. It's fast. Assuming you have plenty of the necessary parts, you can produce more MFs than with other recipes. Where is that useful?

Almost never. With the exception of micro-factories. It allows for relatively small HMF factories for example.

It's not just making enough screws it's moving them around in sufficient quantity. They can be a pain before you have the best conveyors and even then sometimes a problem.

more belts....it's like KSP and boosters but less explosive (and gratifying) .

honey, there is more than one alt recipe for screws.
it just boils down to what you can make and if your belts can transport them for every machine you intend to run.
screws have at least 3 different recipes, it really just depends on what you can make per minute and if you have the means to transport them per machine you want running the alt recipe for bolted frames.

if you are not sure, just stick to the basic recipe and expand as needed/possible

and yes...i did that on purpose.
If it irritates you, i am sorry but my sense of humor is weird and sometimes offensive.

bro I literally told you what alt recipe it was.

yes...and i gave you my answer.
it is very game specific, it really depends on what you can make or have.

Don't listen to the Screw haters! Do what you want.

Try different things across different playthroughs, that's the whole reason why HDDs are randomized, so you aren't just doing the exact same thing over and over
kLuns Sep 29, 2024 @ 2:25pm
regular modular frame is better at resource management,
steel frame is better at power management
this recipe is helping you save on machine space but that's about it.
