Is Nitro Rocket Fuel too good?
I plopped down a 32GW "power tower" with 150 Oil, with associated resources.... I wasnt even trying hard to get the most power out of it, and I can easily see doing that another 3 times if I need to. (call it a tower since its a 4 6x6 blueprints for nitro-generation in a square, each of those feeding 4 6x6 4-FuelGen blueprints stacked on top of them... for 64 double-clocked FuelGens in all... Rocket Fuel is fine with verticality ya know, since its a gas).

I know others have done this before but really.... I can do another 3 of these around the map without breaking a sweat or optimizing it more.... and many, many more are possible if I use some SAM conversion to replace one of the 3 non-oil resources needed, to build more in other areas that arent immediately obvious as good nitro-sites. PLUS.... we now have Alien Power Generators (equally easy to do... I have 4 at the moment) to boost their power output if I need to.....

I did nuclear back in 0.8, and it was a bit of a pain... but now I can see 160GW within trivial reach using nitro+AlienPowGen, why would I bother doing that anymore? I dont mind "building just to build" but really... to reach end-game part goals I just am not seeing a need for nuclear/ficsonium power at the moment. Seems like Nitro Rocket Fuel outclasses all else with the biggest bang for the buck with the least effort.

Any other opinions?

yea I skipped nuclear this last playthrough because of that. this game has some disproportionate output every now and then. computers, for example, seem more expensive and more needy than any other component, and why does any transport (except drones) exist when we have conveyors, which are faster + free energy? but trains do look better

I ain't got this far yet and not discovered Nitro to try it, but I'm intrigued. After 900 hours I still ain't even used Nuclear I mess about too much) but I used to make the 20,000mw diluted fuel setups with the blenders (see screenshot on profile) and that felt OP as hell. Once you had the layout memorised you could knock one together in 15 minutes and only needed 1 pure node.

It consumes more sulfur and coal than the regular recipe but it consumes less power.

maybe not too good scince u need a lot of resources to do it without to much logistical pain involved but if u have a good location ( Blue crater would be my top pick) u can definetely get a ton of Power very easily. In my current playthrough i just started building the heavy oil to fuel standard setup like in my basic fuel Plant and then i realized how many Fuel gens i could run on the rocket Fuel. Lets just say the crater wasnt much of a crater anymore when i was done. And if i wanted to i could just double the whole thing thanks to all the nodes nearby. For me the most limiting factor is the Nitrogen for sure. Dont know how much u could sqeeze out of the spot if u used SAM for converging other resources but If u need that much Power i think even that wouldnt be too hard to do.
So yeah Nitro rocket fuel in the right spot is very good i think

SO much easier to setup than Nuclear too. for better power. I ran off 300 oil and got 70gw. The biggest pain is putting down fuel generators but so much easier than running trains or belts. You can push out even more with Sloops and diluted fuel. Plus, no waste.

Agreed; 2 perfect spots that I can see are Blue Crater (where I started too), and NE corner of Spire Coast. And looking at the resources more... I was vastly understating how effective this is.

With 32GW using 2xClocked Fuelgens you technically need 533.3 Rocket Fuel, but I went with round numbers for 600 RocketFuel (cant decide if I will stack more Fuelgens or just package the excess Rocket Fuel on the roof.. but with more fuel made the main FuelGens come online faster ... I like that too). So with my resource-heavy spec you need;
150 Oil, 400 Water, 200 Coal, 400 Sulfur, 300 Nitrogen Gas.

Blue Crater availability, maxed out... can make up to 160GW
1350 Oil (with more nearby)
2400 Coal
2300 Sulfur
1500 Nitrogen gas LIMITING FACTOR

Spire Coast available maxed out... can make up to 128GW
600 oil LIMITING FACTOR
600 Coal + 1200 nearby
2400 sulfur
1500 Nitrogen gas

So yeah.... who needs nuclear?

I got 254 GW with the standard recipe on the west coast
1800 oil
1042,5 sulfur
1680 nitrogen
210 iron

Don't forget to reuse the compacted coal with turbofuel

I've got a 2400/min rocket fuel plant in the blue crater, that and 4 power augmentors is like 210,000 MW
