Mercer Sphere in the Dune Desert

According to the Interactive Map, there is a Mercer Sphere located at (261,248 / -256,629) at Altitude 65m. It is located on a rocky hill next to the grear river that separates the rocky areas and the sandy areas of the Dune Desert.

I have tried scouring the entire outside of this hill and looking into little crooks - no Mercer Sphere.

I have tried going into the tiny cave that reveals an Impure SAM Node in the first area, leading into another passageway that goes up to a bunch of stingers. It is close, but I can't find a way to get to it - it looks a layer of terrain rock is separating me and the Mercer Sphere. I've tried explosions, I've tried checking every spot. Nothing.

If anyone knows the one I'm talking about and how to actually get to it, that would be highly appreciated.

There's a cave entrance on that rock the sphere is in, directly north of the sphere. There are a couple of bacon shrooms in the entrance.
