New Map When?
I'll pay $50 for a new map......will there ever be a map add on. Playing the same map for 4 years has become extremely boring.

well you might have to wait at least another four years for them to make a new map, because it took longer than that to make this one

New map means Satisfactory 2, so a new game, hopefully with a real story then. But I doubt they will even think about making a second game like Satisfactory

a game like Satisfactory is a one of a kind type of game.
they have their game, they can expand it or move on because let's face it, how are they going to one up Satisfactory?
just look at KSP, the first one was an absolute gem but look at at KSP2 and how that went..
Satisfactory is great because it is so unique, trying to top will probably fail because everyone has different views on how you could match or surpass the original.
possible ? sure, but it will not be easy to get the same traction as the first one had.

I would rather a new planet that we can connect too that has other, possibly abundant resources we can't get on this planet, and those resources are traded with the space stations (In much the same way we use the dimensional cloud), so lets say a planet has a new resource called Scandium, Terbium, Dysprosium etc, this can then be used to go one tier higher in MK than the current max MK for machines.

Cesium for instance has a high react point with water, we could import this to create hydrogen gas, opening up a hydrogen line of machines including hydrogen power and making acids, chemistry!

Building upon the end game is far more important to me atleast then just, creating a new map, so i personally hope the devs are doing that tbh.

i'm still hoping for a sanctum 3, with super logistic action.

Try Oxygen Not Included with the Spaced Out expansion. ;p

Maybe not a new map, but a bit bigger. The fact is that after four years you would like something new and removing / adding new / old resources changes something, but not much. That's why I would like a bigger map and a few additional resources, new recipes and native renewable energy (water, wind). I know that the intention is to exploit the planet for profit, but mods that add additional machines (refined power) are very desirable. Thousands of players install them. I can't wait for the mods for version 1.0 to start working. I miss many things. But apart from mods, a bigger map would be useful.
Let's see if they can make a second playthrough of the existing map viable first. Once it's worth playing more than once, we can start talking about the next map.

I think it was in one of the Q&A vids leading up to Update 8 where the head of the world team was asked if they would rather make a map editor, or make more hand painted maps. She declared with no hesitation that a map editor was something they had talked about and were very much interested in doing.

Because a new map would be a new game. They MIGHT make Satisfactory 2 (for example).
