But the problem is that an average player does not know those tricks and locations, and thus would be forced to use the sub-standard default recipes because after a little exploration they get frustrated that they keep finding enemies that are too tough for them.
As a matter of fact, knowing it felt like cheating, so I have not even visited it yet, but rather from my starter base at the plateau north of the rocky desert I focused on exploring the desert plains and the whole area to the north instead... and I am now headed east where I know there are easier crash site locations for CPUs.
Still, I did very little exploring until I unlocked the proper items for combat, as I hate wasting my time or leaving "uncleared areas" behind me. That meant that I have tier 4 unlocked and it will take me forever exploring to get enough computers to find the tier-1 Iron Wire recipe I need, and then Stitched Iron Plate and Iron Pipe next. Even for me... it would have been far more enjoyable to do my exploring one tier at a time.
It’s a tier 3 unlock.
But you can unlock the rebar gun instead. Just gotta hit up those crash sites, or use doogos
with this beast you have a good chance to get rid of agressive fauna
a little spoiler to point in the right direction:
have a look around for quartz - and get some rotors
Only true in the sense that you can't craft the Xeno Basher until then, I found one on the map the other day.
So you can absolutely get the it right at the start of the game, if you know where to look.
Sure some of them are heavily guarded and inconveniently placed, but others are not that hard to reach, and you can get them early game for sure, if you know where to look
I think you understand the game. Ficksit approves of this.
Please come back to this thread when you have twice as many hours in the game as you do now, to see if you're thinking has changed. For now, the best advice I've seen is just play the game the way you play it, and enjoy it. It's crazy how great the game actually is, when you don't fight it with wishing it were different. The devs knew what they were doing.
As well as a jetpack from a special boi.
