Rocket fuel is a bit busted...
So I was running low on power (only had about 2gw free) so figured I'd make a new power plant before wrapping up phase 4. Looked at the recipes I had available and noticed I should be able to make a pretty sweet rocket fuel plant with the nitro fuel recipe. So I tried to plug it into Satisfactory Calculator and the numbers are still kind of wonky plus the power calculator still doesn't show rocket fuel so I did a lot of this by hand, but right now I'm looking at this:

2400 oil (3 pure nodes and 2 normal nodes fully overclocked at the Blue Crater)
80 refineries set to heavy oil residue making 3200 HOR.
60 blenders set to diluted fuel making 6000 fuel
60 blenders set to nitro rocket fuel making 9000 rocket fuel

So I've got 15 full pipes of rocket fuel now, throw one of them into a generator to see how many generators I needed and I was absolutely floored. So generators only burn 4.17m3 rocket fuel a minute...meaning I can hook up 143.88 plants per pipe. So I'm thinking of making this way more efficient so it doesn't dip like crazy, so I make a design where I overclock my generators to 250% (10m3 per minute) so that I could put a nice round 60 generators per pipe.

So looking over this, that's 625mw power per generator. 60 generators per pipe, 15 pipes, so 900 total generators (going to have to wait for synthetic power shards).

Clocked at 100% is 202GW, which is already more than I think is safe to say no one will ever need. Overclocked to actually use my factory at full efficiency and you're looking at 562GW.

Using turbofuel with the same amount of fuel, you'd be looking at around 165GW, which is still enough to pretty much last the rest of the game so I was expecting for this to be all I'd ever need, but I was definitely not expecting this to be THAT strong. This was definitely the largest facility I've made period (the largest nuclear plant I've made was a 50GW facility and that was the largest until now).

I know that was a lot to take in, but what have you guys done with rocket fuel? Think it's a bit much?

I "beat" the game with normal fuel and like 10GW. Posts like this scares casuals away.

Setting the fuel generator to 600MW will consume exaktly 10m^3/min of rocketfuel. 250%/625MW is 10.4 something

Satisfactory makes everyone sound like powerplant workers

I checked materials[www.satisfactorytools.com] and it's quite a bit more than Oil:

2,400 Oil
3,200 Coal
4,800 Nitrogen Gas
6,400 Sulfur

I'm preparing for a rocket fuel plant with regular recipe using 1800 oil and 1200 sulfur.
it will be slightly over 4200 rocket fuel and over 254GW

It's exactly (10+5/12) at 250% and (25/6) at 100%
with 9000 rocket fuel you can feed
9000/(25/6) = 2160 Generators at 100%
2160/2,5 = 864

864*675 = 583200 MW

Did you plan to reuse the compacted coal somewhere?
You can make extra diluted fuel for the compacted coal and extra nitrogen for a bonus factory making extra power.

That's a casual problem.
Some one goes more extreme in a game and then you can't make a post about it because someone might feel intimidated? Please make sense.

it's fine to be a megalomaniac in this game, however ... starting to say things like "this thing is busted because i had a mouth bigger than my stomach" is another one.

one at which everyone will be entitled to their own opinion.

amateur/pro, casual/hardcore... absolutely, completely, utterly irelevant.

@OP if you think the fuel system is busted, that's fine, good thing this game is a solo experience.

go ahead and challenge yourself and run your whole factories with biofull only, then come back and flex a bit more in the forum will ya.

rocket fuel is fine.

Nuclear power is far too troublesome to maintain in comparison to a rocket fuel power plant.

Is processing into liquid biofuel allowed? Because that would make it a power switch game.
Turn switch off, hunt for creatures, fill bins, turn on. Once out of fuel turn off and hunt again.

I just turned 300 Crude Oil into 72GW of power. Also, making some Compacted Coal.

I still have 150 Crude Oil remaining and I was thinking about packaging it to use it with Drones. Because it has more energy than the Battery and is a lot easier to make. Doesn't need to do anything with Water byproducts or turn Oil into Plastic to make the Classic Battery.

Since both the Sulfer and Coal pure nodes are making much higher than my 72GW Rocket Fuel can consume, I can just use the overflow to make extra Rocket Fuel and package it. As long as I have the Aluminum ingot to make the Gas Tank.

now you're talking, it sounds thrilling for a new playthrough to run only with biofuel/liquid biofull, i 'll keep that in mind and see how long it can push you... i wouldn't dare start in the desert tho :lukasLaugh:

liquid biofuel has been in the game for ages is best in slot for jetpack long long duration but not much thrust great for combat and long cannon trips

600 crude oil (1 pure node) = 318 fuel generators, 18.34 coal generators (for the compacted coal by-product)

for a total of 80863 MW
4010 MW is used by all machines

so a total of 76853 MW of power of: 600 crude oil, 35.9 iron ore (pure iron recipe used), 400 sulfur. 533 nitrogen gas

output besides that power are by products plastic and rubber, 80 each,
