Train Station Not Reachable
Edit: I do appreciate everyone's assistance. Nothing has changed. I've made a complete track loop. Still no movement. Changed the direction of the stations, nothing. Trains are facing correctly, there are no inclines or declines anywhere.

So, I'm done with this experiment. Every single time I've played this game trains have not worked. With the release of 1.0 I had hoped that would change, but apparently not.

Okay, I'm like ten hours into this problem and about to just start smashing things and say ♥♥♥♥ this.
My stations are pointed the right direction.
I was able to manually drive the train from station 1 but cannot leave station 2.
There are two engines, pointed opposite directions.
The freight stations are set to load and unload prospectively and are connected.
There is a set schedule from s.1 to s.2 and from s.2 to s.1.
No gaps in tracks, either visible or invisible.
No matter how I change my tracks, I cannot get trains to move from station 2 back to station 1. There's nothing blocking the tracks; there are no sharp curves, declines, or inclines within the first 10 meters of tracks. No matter what I have done I cannot get the trains to work. I am very quickly losing my mind.

How is your timetable looking? Also, when you say you can manually drive from station 1 to 2 but can’t leave 2, do you mean you can’t manually drive from station 2 back to 1? What happens when you try? The train ignores all collisions on the map (including players and creatures) except for the track itself. If the train comes to a sudden stop and can’t move on, there is definitely something wrong with the track. Maybe not something you did, per se, but still something. The way it’s described, probably a bugged section. Save/quit/reload and see if the problem persists. If so, delete the bugged section and rebuild it and it might work properly this time now that the game’s been restarted.

Have you placed any signals? Are they showing ⚠️ icon?

No signals placed, just a single track

the problem might be the timetable.
I just added each station once not twice.

I've tried adding each just once to the timetable and am still having the same problem, but it seems to be only unable to reach my original station. I can drive manually FROM that station but not back to it, even docking at station 2, then immediately get a flashing warning that the next station is unreachable.

Is it just one piece of track connecting each station? Try making it a loop. Maybe reversing is bugged.

Is it possible one of your cars stops on an incline when it's docked? I had that issue and couldn't figure it out for the longest time. Makes sense it has to be level, but man...

Never done that, I just made loops in the tracks at stations. But then I have little xp on trains. Gimme drones! Then it's fun.

so just to be sure you have it
< = the direction the arrow on the station/front of the train face.
<Station-Freight Platform-Track-Freight Platform-Station>
and the train
<Engine-Freight-Engine> (I'm sure you said you had this correct)

Yeah I mucked with it for hours as well, until I saw a post go <=====> and that's the way the arrows in the stations need to point when you put them down. The ='s being other station segments. If the arrows are´pointing in any other directions it won't care about your timetable it'll always say unreachable.

Make sure both train are facing away from each other.

I've set the stations both ways, facing each other and facing away. There's no difference. Nothing moves.

A train can not move backwards from your screenshot, there is no way to drive out of the station

Trains with engine on both ends, facing opposite directions, *can* use a single track, back and forth. That's what they trying to get set up. I did it a few times in 1.0 so far.

After 1h of troubleshooting I finally fixed my problem, even thought that when I place the hologram I do it facing outwards, as it snaps to the docking platform that I had already built it turns around inwards automatically. So for half an hour I was sure that I placed both of them outwards, but one of them was switched inwards when snapping.
