Can not change fuel type- game or me?

I have coal power-plants working fine in my main location. I set up an new power station location using coal power-plants but the new plants will only show "petroleum coke" as the "supported fuel type"? I can not figure out how to switch types. I can place coal in to the fuel slot and it will run but not feed off the coal line run to it. How do I switch fuel?

* I do not have petroleum coke made anywhere, unlocked yes, produced no.
* I have coal in my inventory. I saw some feed issues noting the need of coal in inventory for some earlier feed glitch, so I don't think it is related.

You probably accidentally put some into it or some ui bug, just feed in normal coal and you'll be fine.

There is no switching types, it just takes them all.
You probably just have some item on the belt clogging the input. Delete the belt and rebuild it.

Can you screenshot it? As Goblin said, it could be a clogged line. Those items do look very similar and it is easy to accidentally place them in a buffer.

With a coal station, it burns what it has, and if it has nothing stored, it will be fed by a belt. If you put some coal in a box to a belt to the generator, the coal will reach the generator and start using that fuel the moment it has none of its current fuel. I have switched from one fuel type to another this way in both coal and bio burner generators. Basically, just put fuel onto the belt and let the plant sort it out.

Thanks for the replies; I will see if something got fed into the conveyers before the coal. Is a bank of 9 generators... so is going to be a pain to re-do. Will see if I can post screen shot for ya on the "petroleum coke" as the "supported fuel type".

Problem with coal not feeding was one iron ore stuck in each of the feeds. Facepalm.
Thanks for the help folks. Still not sure why other fuel types are not listed, but not an issue stopping me.
