Also, if you want the story elements to proceed as intended, then you will need a fresh file once 1.0 arrives.
1. Some factories won't work as recipes and resource nodes will change
2. You won't be able to get all achievements unless you start a new save
3. You may not be able to to do the story unless you start a new save
Basically, yes :)
If you start, you are using low level recipes that shouldn't have to be fixed and anyway during progression you'll have to build or fix your factories anyway to take into account new tech like better belts etc
My main save only has 2 factories remaining
1 50GW turbo fuel/ diluted fuel plant
2 A factory that makes everything that I want to store in my storage room (over 40 different items)
And a compact storage room with collectables factory. A very handy all in one base.
In preparation for 1.0 I made a huge tower of power storages storing enough power to trouble shoot in slow motion :)
Then, go back, if you wish.
I don't think I personally have played any EA game that the save has been fully compatible with the full release of the game when the game launched lol usually their are map changes that mess up any base or home or mechanics added/changed within the game that just bork the save.
So i really don't get why players buy an EA title so supporting the dev to finish the game but then complain the dev finishing the game means they have to start over for the best experience lol in the voice of spock "it's not logical captain"
This. It's the perfect opportunity to start over and do it better than before.
