I created a new dedicated server yesterday, started a brand-new game, and have been playing with a friend without issues so far...but haven't yet gotten to the hypertubes or vehicles yet. Once I get to that point I will follow-up.
You probably should start a fresh game with 1.0 release. 150 hours tells me that you imported a save. I'm not sure if all of the artifacts from previously saved games prior to 1.0 will work correctly based on comments I've seen. Pre-1.0 factories will likely break which is probably why you're seeing latency imo.
I wouldn't spend $$ on AWS if you have a spare PC laying around, but i'm not sure what your situation is. I used to be an AWS fanboy, but not worth it imo. Satisfactory dedicated servers favor higher single-core performance over multi-core based on the Fandom wiki. The only benefit would probably be the increased ram.
Good luck!
But you point about loading a save prior to 1.0 is fair, that might not help, even tho I didn't see anything weird about my existing factories. I might look into it, thx
Did you have issues with vehicules on that save before the 1.0 update ? If not it could be my home server that is not powerfull enough. It has nothing to do with a powerfull web server, but I thought an i7 intel NUC with 16gigs of RAM would be sufficient to run a satisfactory game server at least for the few dozen hours of early game
Only major issue was, when driving a fast vehicles, like an explorer, and going in an unexplored direction or simply somewhere there were no building, you could get kicked by the server. I guess doing that you were asking the server to load some part of the map that were not loaded, asking too much bandwidth or too much processor work.
But 1.0 brought significants improvement on that issues, vehicles got less laggy, less rollback, even if the explorer problem with the map loading persist. I wanna try adding more compute to see if it solve the issue.
ALSO, if you have a processor powerful enough, I would recommend increasing the tick rate, improved vehicles lag pre 1.0.
Thank's for the tips, I will give it a try. My first concern was about automatic pathing vehicles, that were completly unusable pre-1.0. I had gave up on my previous play through before the trains were unlocked.
Cool, I'm glad to hear that, I will give the game another try then !
Thank's for the infos.
