Idk where you got that from. Satisfactory has been here on EA since 2019.

The second year into early access they ported it to steam and I think the reason they didn't do it sooner was because they were under contract with epic, and why does it even matter that it was on just epic for a while

Huh. I never actually knew Satisfactory was on Epic Games store. When I first heard about it, it was already well established on Steam. That does kind of explain why there was apparently a bug at 1.0 launch with the exe being named FactoryGameSteam.exe. There was also likely (on dev builds) a FactoryGameEpic.exe, unless that version was just FactoryGame.exe.

Wasn't there a big annoyance when the developers took a lot of money from Epic for a one yeat exclusive?
Personally I refuse to use Epic, so I was forced to wait untill it came to steam.

Yes. It was ES exclusive. Even Early Access on Steam was always connected to AGS all the time unless you used a command to disable that. They removed that AGS crap now, it seems.
