At the same time, I frequently need to Alt+Tab out of the game to take care of other stuff.
So... no pause key, really?
Or just let the fuse burn when one of the generators is out of fuel. It's not like there is a scarcity on things to burn....

life calls and Pause is faster than "save and quit-to-menu" or "save and reload-eventually if accidentally consumed limited resource due to missed detail along the line while AFK"

Honestly I was worried I'd run out, but then you get the chainsaw you will have more than you'll ever need, like seriously I'm moving into coal and I have 1000s of biofuel waiting to be used for fuel, so I'm now questioning if I turn it into vouchers or just get rid of the leaves constructor and keep the wood ones as they are so easy to keep topped up anyway.
