1.0 Where will YOU start and why

I for one are wondering between grassland and desert starting with 2~4 friends
I know the lake + coal near grasslands is nice

But so are some desert areas

Anyone feels like sharing their most liked spots and why ?

The high starting plateau area has already been voted against

There are 2 deserts, which one do you mean?
I'm not starting over untill I'm finished or fed up with fixing my old saves.
On your question the Dune Desert provides the best and most resources to start with (imo) so from my end a +1 for that biome.

Everything that comes to 1.0 wil stay there forever or get improved in 1.1 so it won't be missed when I start fresh later.

Dune Desert...I like the openness and rocky cliffs

dune desert is the best biome imo. Plenty of coal, iron, copper and even quarz and caterium is near by. There are also two pure sulfur nodes (1.0) close to the spire coast.

Grassy fields. I think I can get off to a faster start and room to grow. But I do like the SW coast. Malibu.

I'll go for Northern Forest. It's closer to being in the center of the map than than the others, and there's a strong cluster of nodes handy for getting things started.

Rocky desert, it was the first place I started so I have a bit of nostalgia for it. Eventually I'll build around the coast, crater lakes and dune desert.

The Northern Forest got really nerfed in 1.0
