Very cool idea and implementation.

I don't care how you slice it....this is teleportation.

Really looking forward to being able to read all this information as patch notes for a few minutes instead watching it for hours as a video.
The dimensional depot looks like a big box you can feed multiple outputs directly into, creating a large stash of random parts. As you take stuff out, new random parts will be added. I didn't see any quota system, so it'll eventually just fill up with stuff you're not taking out.

You know, there's already a device for transporting a load of parts for large projects around the map, not to mention transporting you personally in perfect safety. It's called a "truck".

You're missing the point of this: it's an extension of your personal inventory that automatically refills, not a new transportation medium. And it gives you instant access to parts, no driving, no waiting for trucks.

Have you ever been in a situation where you're building a factory somewhere far way and you run out of materials and need to go back to refill your inventory? This is the problem solved by the dimensional depot, not transportation. I build a lot of roads and bridges and I constantly run out of concrete and steel. So I either have to keep going back for it or set up a truck or drone route that would supply me at the site. No more. This solves it. It doesn't matter where I am on the island I have access to parts. It almost feel like the ultimate cheat for the game.

It's totally teleportation :) But yeah, I was hoping for personal teleporters too :/ Though personal teleportation may not be entirely safe:

I'm wondering how this feature wil be limited.
Because most of the limits can be bypassed if you can send enough parts per minute into the dimensional depot.

So it will be limited by the belt speed and likely there is a stack limit too so it may not solve my problem where I need tons of concrete for a bridge, but we'll see, I guess.

that would mean 1200 items in the end game.
That's a lot and to me doesn't look like a limit :)

Yeah, but the belts Mk6 are very late game and are very expensive so for the most of the game we'll be limited by 780 IPM.

780 Is a lot for single player if you balance it out imo but maybe my opinion will change on tuesday :)

Now I've got to work out a good way to feed stuff into it without having to build 40 of them, one for each item. Wish we had a logic system!

There must be some limitation to this or like said, this would be the ultimate cheat :) Maybe there is a limit to how many rows of items you can have in there, hard to tell from the video, so you can't have a bit of everything, but you will need to carefully select items that you may actually need.
