FICSMAS... Any worthwhile rewards for spending my time on it?
I kind-of liked the idea and now I'm getting into the tier 2 stuff and that is kind-of where it started feeling less fun than chore, so I went to the wiki to see what I get as reward and sofar it seems kinda lame. Am I missing something?

Snowballs. A super easy to create nobelisk alternative that stacks 500.

The Quantum Computers and Superposition Oscillators are needed for a few crash sites, you get those from the calendar.

Plus the alternate power cables that have lights in them can make for interesting factories.

Finishing the big tree is bragging rights mostly, as it takes a lot of work.
The calendar gives you some good items outside of the ficsmas stuff. There's a stack of 20 power shards you can get from it at some point.
You can also sink the presents or other items. I think they're all worth the same though.

This.
By far and and away the best reward for doing the event. Huge stacks and cheap to produce.

Other than that, not really. Just grab all the things off the calendar and you can pretty much ignore the event if you want. Even the snowballs, while nice, you still have nobelisk and if you automate production of such you probably have no issues with such.

my pov here is that the holiday should have NOT been this complex. Its a pain to start out and try to get to the holiday stuff n decorations. It should have been all tier 1 stuff, so those of us with 60 hr work weeks during the holiday can actually ya know, enjoy the thing lol.

oh well, still a fun game, just cant do it all.

It's actually easier this year than last year! Last year the final item in the production chain took twice as long to produce and needed more than twice as many Candy Canes per item crafted. It still is way too tedious and eats up enough real estate to fill five floors of a 10x10 tower complex just to get a rate of 2/min of the last item...

took me 30 hours to unlock everything using fresh save and I kinda half-assed it. since I had to start over last Tuesday after my Win 10 Install self destructed and killed that SSD. I kinda half-assed it

Hmm... when I discovered this holiday event last year I was pleasantly surprised. It is quite simply one of the best holiday events I've experienced in a game. I didn't find it tedious and in fact it was heaps of fun to deck out my factory with seasonal cheer ;)
All in all, it took me about 18 hours of game time to get to producing the Giant Ficsmas Tree (I had already reached Tier 8 at the time).
You have a heavy work schedule... I get that, but you're finding some time to play this game too eh? So... are you able to squeeze in 18 hours to complete the Ficsmas production between 1st December and when the event expires in January? That should be doable. It's not as if you are forced to complete it before Xmas day right?
In any case, as others have noted above, you can do the event just to profit from the Advent Calendar goodies or if you can find the time, manufacture yourself some Wonderstars and plant some huge festive trees. The choice is up to you ;)
Personally, I haven't even started it yet. I haven't even played since the last event ended.
I may just crank it up and open the Advent calendar or I might just churn out a load more snowballs to add to my stocks from last time LOL.
I sure don't need any more giant trees, I planted forests of 'em!

Merry Ficsmas ;)

I wish there was something to build requiring Wonder Stars. All that build up to completing the tree, and then it's over. Or even if the stars were just worth a lot in the Sink. IDK. Anything.

The only complaint I had was the crappy snow makers LOL. Their ineffectiveness still bugs me...
So, the only thing I would wish for would be actual snowfall ;)

Oh yeah you're right. I remember that from last year. I didn't even bother building them this year knowing that.

With U5, there are a lot more particles and bugs flying around, so it seems entirely plausible.

Hey, thanks for the imput, lads. I'll disassemble the crap I built for Ficsmas and focus building my factory.
LazerRay Dec 20, 2021 @ 9:36pm
I'm going to leave my stuff up since its not in the way of the main factory and I can keep a stock pile of all the items for later.

The giant tree is pretty great but aside from that, not really. The tree does upgrade it's look depending on your FICSMAS upgrade so if you just want an evergreen, don't upgrade it. Otherwise it's very Christmasy stuff.

My favorite reward is the Fiscmas-themed basher. It takes up a lot less screen space than ordinary basher.
