We need dedicated server functionality to be fixed.
This is an ongoing problem since launch. Dedicated servers will shut themselves down when a user on the same machine leaves the server. As of now there is only one workaround: host the server on a different machine. This isn't acceptable. Coffee Stain, official fix comes when?

Edit for the bottom feeders: You should be able to host a dedi and play on the same machine. That is normal functionality and as long as you aren't on a potato you can do it without issue. The issue is that many people are having an issue with the server closing after they leave the game. There needs to be an offical fix for this. Those of us suffering from this shouldn't have to find a second computer to enjoy what should be working by default.

There's no "We" in "I", but if you see this as a bug, cause it never happens to me, then I suggest heading over at https://questions.satisfactorygame.com/ and post your problems.

Just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it's not happening. I shall post my problems on any and every platform I wish until the problem is fixed and you won't stop me. "we" don't care that you aren't having issues. If you aren't having issues and have no actual means to help, consider keeping your comments to your self.

This - granted some cannot afford more than one computer - but running a dedi at same time as the main rig for the game is a hazard - not saying its stupid or anything - its a fact in terms of today's economics - but it IS a known hazard - and can't surprise people that the hazard is going to cause complications.

This is of course presuming the specs on said machine is more than adequate and not falling short.

There are no issues starting, running, and playing on the server for me or any of my friends. The only issue is that I cannot DC from the server or else the server will shut down, and the issue only happens because I am running the server on my machine that I play from. This doesn't happen to every single server, but it has been happening to tons of people since launch and there has never been a fix for it. Many people's responses are "The only way I could get it to work is hosting the server on a different machine," but we shouldn't have to do that because running the server and playing on the server from the same machine shouldn't be an issue. The server takes up barely any resources. It is not at all hard to have a server and a player on one system in today's day and age.

Run the server in a VM

another solution but not a real fix. Thanks for trying.

Bugs don't always happen to everyone. However, I just installed the dedicated server on my machine as test and the problem was reproduced every time I exited the game.

So in my case there is "we" in "I". And a simple search also supports that this issue exists for other people.

And the issue has been marked as "fixed internally set by the developer"

So maybe a fix will be made public soon.

I host dedicated server, to give way my wife to play when i am busy. And encounter same problem.
Easy fix. (For me) Use firewall NAT functional to map another IP to your two way, and connect to it. Then server think you connected from another ip... I do it with linux iptables, but think it;s also possible with windows firewall.

I have been running a separate dedicated server since they added dedicated servers. I get the same issue that when I connect from a laptop from the same network, when I logout the server no longer accepts logins and shows offline. This only started when they released Satisfactory v1
Hoping it gets fixed soon as it's a bit of a pain. Friends connecting and re-connecting do not seem to cause the issue though. I have an overnight restart so have a kind of workaround.

Run the server in the Docker.

That should isolate the network from your host.
