Mod question
I have finished the 1.0 game already.

I have never use a mod with this game.

Is there a mod available that adjust the number of items stored in the machines (constructors, manufactors etc.)? Machine item input buffer set to 2x the necessary items only? Machine ouput buffer set to only 1 item?

I would love to play this game with the the "just in time" delivery of every item.

I looked at www.ficsit.app but without success.

Thanks in advance.

Digital Storage is a mod currently still being updated to 1.0, which has a factory adapter that will only pull in 2x the materials required to craft on a single machine. From what I remember about it it won't stop production, but you can prevent it from pushing back into your network under the condition that you only import the items into the network when there are zero items of that type in the network.

Circuitry is a mod that seems to have a lot of tools to tweak your factory, they could turn off your machines if you have "any items in the output buffer" potentially. Haven't used it yet as I'm still doing my unmodded 1.0 playthrough while I wait for Digital Storage and others.

These two combined could provide the functionality you want, but just to warn you Digital Storage is point-to-point logistics, it somewhat eliminates the need for long-distance transport and conveyor spaghetti in general. It may not be what you're looking for.

I can see a big issue with the second part of what you want (the output buffer of 1 item only). The machine will idle the moment it produces the item as the output buffer is full. Even worse when you have productions that produce more than one item per cycle.

Yes, you are correct. Output buffer maybe 2x the produced items.

https://ficsit.app/mod/HugeStack or https://ficsit.app/mod/StackResizer is probably the closest you can get.

https://ficsit.app/mod/SpecialContainers is another mod if you want bigger storage containers.

Otherwise im not quite sure what you are looking for.

If your input is the same rate as the items used per minute, you do not need a '1 item buffer'. It stays 0, if you set it all up right. Maybe that is better to try?

Thanks. Okay the machine buffers are based on the same item stack size in the inventory. So it is not possible to just modify the machine buffers.

As far as i know, no.
There might be some mods for that, but looking trough thousand of mods just to find that one is gonna take a very very long time and that some mods are still not updated

What i would suggest is joining the modding discord and ask for help there, they might have more knowledge.

stack size = machine size.
i dont found any way to modify the stack size from machines.

if you set your stack to 5000 (like i did) so the machine has also 5000.

That's sad.

Cool. I'll check it out when it's available.

Yeah, this one has nice daisy chain for power cables, but it also limits the input to 3x the requirements or a stack of items, whichever is smaller.
