Fuel for Drones - remote to remote
I have no problem fueling drones when one port is connected to a fuel supply. Is there a way to fuel drones operating between two remote sites where there is no fuel at either?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure if there's an easier way, but what I did was build a second drone port at one of the location that gets sent the packaged fuel from wherever. Then I can fuel multiple ports off of that one.

That may be the only way. Thank you!

I build a bunch of droneports where i make my bottled fuel. distributed it to all the ports there. and then they take the fuel out to all the other areas where i got drone ports and its split out to all who need it. Keep in mind only ports which send items need to have the fuel. the destination doesnt, they fuel for a round trip.

Basically, after you've decided what you are going to fuel your Drones with (since there are now options), you would want to build a large facility to produce enough to accommodate your whole map. You'd then have an array of "outgoing" Drone Ports taking in the fuel item you've chosen, both to their fuel ports (for themselves) and to their cargo ports (for deliveries). You then route these fuel delivery drones to any drone's "home" port you need anywhere on the map. On the cargo outputs, set up a Smart Splitter to take the fuel item off the exit line, into a storage container to buffer, with another Smart Splitter overflowing to an AWESOME Sink, with the main going into the fuel item port.

What I've done to link up my extensive drone network is a) build a packaged fuel plant - because see no point in batteries and have plenty of fuel left around from oil gen power.

b) make 1 master drone port that is the supply dump for everyone else. My pkg fuel goes into storage that feeds into the port, but there is NO drone parked here. You want this port to be temporarily visited by other drones, nothing perma parked here.

c) any location that has one or more drone ports for load/unload jobs, I make 1 fuel port. This fuel port has a drone that is set to travel between fuel port <-> master supply fuel port. It will automatically stop when the local fuel port is full, so is not flying all the time. It sits there for quite awhile, emptying internal 9 stack of fuel into port, until unloaded, then auto takes off to fetch another load from master fuel depot.

c1) the local fuel depot outputs to 1 industrial storage box that splitter connects to the 1+ other drone ports at this local area.

d) repeat above from every 1+ drone port location. So far, I'm still managing my entire 40+ drone port network with just this 1 master supply port. I see sometimes 1 or more drones floating above it, waiting their turn patiently - while another local drone is fetching fuel load, but so far hasn't broken down, and eventually the queue keeps moving until each gets to land, load, and take off back to their local port.

If you got uranium or plutonium fuel rods to spare, put a stack of those into the drones, they last a very very long time.
Careful though they are now emitting radiation :)
One great thing about giving them these rods is a nice way to get rid off excess since they produce no waste.

Make sure you automate the iodine filters into a depot before you radiate your transport at a rate of at least 5 filters per minute.
