Report a translation problem
Use zoop mode to lay down large amounts of floor. I find that around 7-9 of the 4m platforms is a good elevation for most big buildings. It's okay to have a second floor in blueprints, for double stacking the smaller buildings, but I haven't put a first floor in any blueprint and it seems to work best.
That problem must be new. In Update 8 I built a whole platform over Dune Desert with 4x4 foundation blueprints and had no problems to place stuff on it.
The only problem I noticed with blueprint foundatons was that their angle is slighly different from zooping foundations. After serveral hundert meters there was a small gap between the two building styles.

I didn't see the problem from 1.0.0.4 in any earlier release. I think the gap you're writing about is directly related to the misaligned corners problem I found. I filed a bug report for it:
