Other games with similar building system but with colony management?
I hope I'm not breaking any rules by asking about other games, but I don't know where else to ask.

I guess my topic is still relevant if only for appreciating Satisfactory's building system.

So my question is: does anyone know of city or colony building games with a first person building system similar to Satisfactory's where the game is focused on base building, automation and managing villagers / citizen?
Ideally without having to farm ressources for dozens of hours, the progressive automation of Satisfactory is what I prefer rather than carrying logs around forever.

My starting point for this idea is back when I played Minecraft with two main mods: MineColonies (for building and managing towns) and Create (to make automated machines similarly to factory games).

Maybe something similar to Fallout 4 but without all the... Fallout around.
Medieval Dynasty was interesting but it's not exactly what I'm looking for, it's a bit too restrictive in terms of premade buildings, limited good terrain to build on, etc. My dream is to build a cyberpunk or solarpunk city with a free building system and watch people living in it.

Actually what I'd really prefer is being able to manage a colony of humans (or robots or whatever) in Satisfactory, but it's likely too much of an undertaking to make such a mod or DLC based on everyting the game already offers.

Maybe look at something like the ANNO series from, I think, Ubisoft

The closest thin I can think of is maybe the "The Crust"

I haven't played it, but is X-Foundations like this?

Thank you grissom and RadioIesbian Fluid, these look a lot like what I'm thinking of, I'll look into them!

TH3R4BB!T and Fenix thank you for taking the time to answer, but maybe I didn't emphasize enough that I'm looking for a first person experience, preferably with free building similarly to Satisfactory where you make "buildings" from their functional parts rather than placing basic bricks with logic attached.

I haven't played it either but I looks more like a traditional top down base building mode. It looks interestingly modular but it doesn't look like you place every funcitonal bit by hand like in Satisfactory, with functional parts and then free form design of any outside decorations of your liking.

I know I'm asking for something very specific haha

Part of my inspiration comes from seing a guy on youtube touring his mega factory designed in the looks of a cyberpunk city, and I was dreaming of actually having a functional and living city that you build Satisfactory style

Should have been the game your looking for.

Its older now and it was abandoned... that said, this had potential to be the greatest game ever made (no hyperbole... it was going there!)

Breaks my heart to think about this lost classic.

There's no colony management but there's more survival element along with building... May be valheim?

Played this one. Would have been a great game if finished. So sad.

Wasn't this the one that had a free-form vehicle designer that actually (more or less) worked?

It really is a crying shame that they never finished it properly. It had serious potential.

Can't think of anything in first person, but if you can be flexible about perspective, then this is probably the game I think you're looking for:

Also this one. which is like a modern re-imaging of the early games in the The Settlers series (which kicked the factory game genre off in the first place back in the '90s, although sadly that franchise lost its way a long time ago):

Soulmaks is in that direction, where you can automate your Base, basic gathering, crafting etc. with villagers (Triebsmen). But it's a survival game, in a South America setting and for higher tier resources you have to fight, together with some villagers if you want.

I played this and it's really really broken and buggy, still fun but only if you have very high bug tolerance, wouldn't recommend it until those issues are gone but the devs honestly seem incapable of doing that.
