Yeah, I don't see any reason not to use a site like this to identify and follow locations. I find it much easier and it can help along with https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/ in planning your factory builds.
In addition you create a red map marker with the chest symbol for each non-lootet drop pod and write what ingredients are necessary to open it. Once you looted it you change the color to green.
With this system you have a real world marker (the painted steel beam) and a map marker to indicate you where you already have been.
System tested and validated during almost 1500 hours. Mark thread as solved and thank me later.
