Finding hard drives with object scanner
So I've found a bunch of hard drives, but now I'm looking for more, and using the object scanner to scan for hard drives is leading me to places I've already looted, which is kinda defeating the purpose. Is this intended design, or am I missing something..?

There is a bug when 1.0 first updates. They did fix it, but if you were using a save file before it was fixed. It'll show every Hard Drive location in your game. Unless you go near them, they'll not update that they have been looted.

Build a Lookout Tower at every drive you looted, so if you see it off in the distance, you know you got it already.

You can also upload your save to https://satisfactory-calculator.com/ interactive map and filter everything except hard drives. Those with trasparent icon are already looted and the rest are available.

Yeah, I don't see any reason not to use a site like this to identify and follow locations. I find it much easier and it can help along with https://www.satisfactorytools.com/1.0/ in planning your factory builds.

A must-do is placing a painted steel beam (or something similiar) at every looted drop pod so you see from far away with your binoculars (P key) that it is looted.

In addition you create a red map marker with the chest symbol for each non-lootet drop pod and write what ingredients are necessary to open it. Once you looted it you change the color to green.

With this system you have a real world marker (the painted steel beam) and a map marker to indicate you where you already have been.

System tested and validated during almost 1500 hours. Mark thread as solved and thank me later.

9/10 I already saw the crash side, but the scanner worked for me without issues on showing if I already had raided the side. Lucky enough I didn't had to search for them after unlocking all the alt recipes
