Drones, anyone use uranium/plutonium fuel rods for them?
Anyone managed for a real use of such energy for transport?

100% Yes. Drones move speed increases with better power sources:

It might be the best fuel for them. Considering it didn't produce waste and you normally be far away from them. You can make Drone ports that are quite far from your actual Factories so the radiation doesn't get to you and belt the items that are transported by the Drones to your Factories.

However, IDK if the drone will use 1 rod for each travel or not since it only needs about 24,000 MJ to 30,000 MJ to transport items and 6,000 MJ for each km it travels. But the Uranium Rod has 750,000 MJ which is overkill for 1 travel.

They use fractions of fuel for travel. They only ever grab enough for one round trip

Yeah, I just have my friend who has nuclear set up tested it for me. They said that the drone only takes 1 rod and flies about 2-3 trips already without taking another. The port said it uses about 0.06 rods per trip.

Problem isn't one or two fuel rod in drone or port
problem is to not accumulte rods

thanks.....
I would love to use nuclear.... what keep me against is radioactivity

Ionized fuel is aheadache for mass production but batteries are a good alternative still.
According to the wiki the max burn rate for iodine filters is 1 per 12 seconds aka 5 per minute.

So if you got 7,5 or 10 iodine filters going to a depot per minute you are safe but you need to drag a new stack into your inventory every 10 minutes in the worst case.

I'm not going to craft anymore uranium products than I have to. Probably won't bother with drones to complete the space elevator.

Trucks, tractors and drones all suck from my perspective because they require a power component and the map isn't that big. I have a rail all the way around the map and crossing through the middle; meaning anything that I don't belt, will end up on train.
