What I do, having bought a few upgrades, is I take enough stacks of materials to fill up my slots before building and then I dump all that into a container that directly feeds a DD that's disconnected from everything else. Also, Inventory use access is way OP. Get it quick.
I should probably go mercer hunting again. I think I could get by if I just had maybe 10 key things auto dimensional depot'd
What I do is I have a storage container for every item, each leading to their own dimensional depot. Then like every storage system, I have a smart splitter on evey production line overflowing to a sushi belt to a sink.
I now barely carry any building item on me, so I basically build from the dimensional depot even though I have it set to use my inventory first. It just works fantastically
Dimensional Depot uploader is a storage container basically, like any other storage container, except that it can only accept one type of item. So, like with any storage container, you can put a smart or programmable splitter right before the uploader and set one output to overflow and connect it to a sink or another container. If the Dimensional Depot is full, the splitter will send the overflow to the sink or to the other container.
I'll Blueprint a Central Storage like this at some point

I think there are enough mercer spheres to fully upgrade and still have over 100 depots. Although I think I am not going to upgrade until I have enough depots for the construction materials I want.
I also have seen on the forums that the depots are additive, so if I have a large concrete project I can put several depots on the concrete line to get the throughput I want.
Yep I have several uploading Concrete
Depot costs 4.
Still 50.

Yeah the large containers are perfect for this. Just snap a DD on top connected with a lift and it can siphon items while still having a port free to use for other things :)
The depots themselves only take 1 sphere each to build.
Won't that just cause item X to be blocked if an item Y is in front of it on some conveyor when item Y is full in the D.D.?
I just have one dimensional depot dumped into by each item type
Or are these configurations you're showing just for one item, just to speed up the deposit rate?
