Copper alloy ingots not as good now?
I remember it was pretty good thing to pick as alt, got it in one of first HDDs in first playtrough since 1.0 so went straight for it.
I cant really remember what was the ratio before, but seems like it doesnt work with old setup anymore, so something must have changed and I had to rework part of factory.

Any good use for it now?

Nope, it's always been 5 Copper ore + 5 Iron Ore = 10 Copper Ingot, base speed of 50/minute input for both, and 100/minute output

Some node purities changed so maybe the node you were used to using was grade down to normal/impure and you can't make as much foundries now?

Up front I just use copper for sheets. Wire and cable come from caterium. far better yield.

Then I am off. Could have swore it was something else.

Dont think so. It is fresh save drom day one of 1.0, dont think they changed anything after that conidering nodes.

Yea, I started in dune dessert, so just uncapped only caterium node that is decently close.

Not quite right. Before 1.0 it was 50 copper ore + 25 iron ore for 100 copper ingots.

The wikis must use some weird script for showing alt recipes that is always current, and doesn't follow rollbacks then, because even going back as far as possible, it lists as 5:5 copper/iron to 10 ingots @ 100/minute

It seems that when the wiki shows a table it is apparently an internal table which seems to be interally updated instead of it being more of a list.
Edit: Found it with a calculator and setting it to 0.8:
https://www.satisfactorytools.com/0.8/codex/items/copper-ingot
Edit 2: Also with SCIM using the Early Access part:
https://satisfactory-calculator.com/en/items/detail/id/Desc_CopperIngot_C/name/Copper+Ingot
In both it is 50 copper ore + 25 iron ore to 100 copper ingots.

Yep, actually the wikii mentions it:

Patch 1.0:
Introduced Tempered Copper Ingot and Leached Copper Ingot recipes
Copper Alloy Ingot
Changed recipe craft time from 12 to 6 seconds
Changed Copper Ore cost from 10 to 5
Changed Copper Ingot product from 20 to 10

So it's not really the iron that changed but the cycle time and copper cost (which in the end kinda change just the iron)

Nice, thank you.
Thought something changed.

Even if it was nerfed a little, I still love it. Pure copper is too large and power hungry to be worth it to me. And requires water.
But Copper Alloy is a lot faster than the standard copper, require fewer machines.
And combining it with Iron alloy, you can offset some of the iron use, if thats what you need depending on the factory/location.
The extra iron does make the situations where its not what I want, a little higher tho.

So either way... What is OP complaining about? You're still getting the same amount of ingots per the Copper ore you put in, more ingots for the Iron ore technically.

Everything got halved, except the iron needed. That means you need double the iron for the same output, not half.
Evilsod Oct 12, 2024 @ 7:02am
Yeah, it now requires equal amounts of iron and copper, which can be significant depending on the ratio of the nodes you had nearby.

Honestly though, these Alloy recipes really just come down to what resource you were trying to enhance and maximise the consumption of for a given build. There's so much of both scattered around. I wouldn't worry about it... unless you're trying to play on an old save.

The key element for iron in this case is cycle time. You need the same AMOUNT for half the TIME, so essentially double the throughput (amount/time)

This.

It doubled the iron consumption, so it could be remedied just by reworking whole subfactory, or getting other node (thus compromising other subfactory).
