Pure and normal nodes only
Wanted to create a new normal since I havent played in a while, and last time I played was on a "creative" kinda save where I would test stuff and now my new world only seem to have normal and pure nodes so far (I have created 3 different saves with the same result). I guess this is not intended or its something wrong on my settings but I cant seem to fix it. Any suggestions?

The map and the resource nodes are fixed, not generated each time when you start a save, so each new save will give you exactly the same map and the same resource nodes, and yes, impure nodes do exist. Not sure why you don't see any. Do you have mods installed? Some mods can alter the nodes purity.

Look at the SCIM to see where the nodes are:

No mods installed so yeah, should be something related to that world created previously which was on "creative", would deleting the saves fix the "world building" issue? (would do a backup)

Yeah, resource nodes were moved around in 1.0 so perhaps there is something in the older save that may be broken. But new saves are, well, new 1.0 saves so they should be fine. There is no relation or dependency on old saves.

Have you reinstalled the game or just updated an old install? If you're gonna reinstall, do a clean install and delete the entire game folder from Steam and the %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame folder - this is where the saves and the settings are. You may wanna archive those old save if you want or just delete that whole folder too.

You can definitely do that with mods. Some mods even let you create new nodes.

If that previous creative world was pre- 1.0 , then nodes could have very well changed once the game transitioned over. Were those 3 recent saves using the same starting point? If so, it might just be there are no impure nodes in that area. Try different areas. The Dune Desert for example, has plenty of impures all over the place.

The map is static. Unchanging other than what you do to it. Everything is the same for everyone.

Yeah, if there is a problem with the game then deleting saves alone won't help. The problem is either inside the Steam's game folder or in the settings in FactoryGame folder.

My bet is on the famous error 40.

So, clean reinstall did the trick? Neat. You're welcome :) I deleted everything preemptively when 1.0 came out and did a full clean reinstall to start afresh, just in case.

Cleared all the data and clean reinstall did the trick, will keep in mind for future games when releases come around!

Yes, when Steam uninstalls a game, it only uninstalls files that it installed or that is aware of them* and often leaves cruft behind. It's even worse if you used mods, tweaks, reshade or any sort of dll replacements or custom files as they will all stay behind and cause trouble.

*This is mostly true for pretty much all software installers/uninstallers.
