Any reason this game is ignored by The Game Awards?
Game Awards just put up voting for Player's Choice and Satisfactory isn't even an option, out of 30. Has the publishers boycotted the event or something? It just doesn't make sense otherwise.

Noticed the same thing myself.
Don't think CSS boycotted anything.... but I won't exclude the opposite.

Titles in TGA are nominated by big news site/information.
Public count (in TGA) only for 10% of vote weight and anyway only for titles nominated by news sites. So basically public count as zero.

Yeah I know it's a soulsucking commercialized mess, but I still expected them to include the option to vote for the actual GOTY in their little GOTY competition. Just really weird not to include.

TGA is a pony awards show for investors and corporate wombles anyway I doubt they are concerned

Nominees for TGA are submitted by news agencies. There is a review panel that selects nominees based on these submissions. Then voting happens which is pointless as it only makes up 10% the other 90% is up to a Jury panel. As Freeman already said, It's a dog and pony show.

2 things:
1- RATINGS ON METACRITIC (I strongly believe that they are bought either by the company to gain more ratings OR to harm another competing game)
2- Nominations at TGA, I believe that there is a "lobby" of large companies buying these nominations and categories, mainly console companies.
<< that is, in neither case does it reflect the opinion of the buyers and players of these games, they are merely marketing strategies for investors >>

THE ONLY LEGITIMATE REVIEWS AND AWARDS
1- Golden Joystick Awards
2- "Steam" >> Player Reviews
<< that are truly player review and vote for awards >>

it is a shame though. NMS and many other indie games got awards so its not because Satisfactory is indie. Maybe the judges have a narrow view of what a game is and theres probably not enough pew pew for them.

Ratings are overrated - pun unintentional.
They are either bribed - or just bribed period.

While players can vote all they want - and sometimes get what they want - generally its entirely at the mercy of editors/publishers on who wins what.

And frankly they tend to not always agree with what you want or thought.

That said - its nice to see some games win regardless - but generally it ends up being a bragging rights when its all said and done.

Sad thing of it is - player reviews can also be abused to death - so generally you end up by going word of mouth.

There are very obvious winners however - but they tend to not always align with everyone's viewpoint.

So it becomes very subjective.

Regardless - Satisfactory is truly - Satisfactory - award or not.

I found some choices questionable, and didn't understand the non-nominator of the game. But when I read some articles talking about corruption and doubts about the probity of the event, I wasn't too surprised anymore

They are stupid awards that have zero meaning.
