Don't think CSS boycotted anything.... but I won't exclude the opposite.
Titles in TGA are nominated by big news site/information.
Public count (in TGA) only for 10% of vote weight and anyway only for titles nominated by news sites. So basically public count as zero.
Yeah I know it's a soulsucking commercialized mess, but I still expected them to include the option to vote for the actual GOTY in their little GOTY competition. Just really weird not to include.
2- Nominations at TGA, I believe that there is a "lobby" of large companies buying these nominations and categories, mainly console companies.
<< that is, in neither case does it reflect the opinion of the buyers and players of these games, they are merely marketing strategies for investors >>

it is a shame though. NMS and many other indie games got awards so its not because Satisfactory is indie. Maybe the judges have a narrow view of what a game is and theres probably not enough pew pew for them.
They are either bribed - or just bribed period.
While players can vote all they want - and sometimes get what they want - generally its entirely at the mercy of editors/publishers on who wins what.
And frankly they tend to not always agree with what you want or thought.
That said - its nice to see some games win regardless - but generally it ends up being a bragging rights when its all said and done.
Sad thing of it is - player reviews can also be abused to death - so generally you end up by going word of mouth.
There are very obvious winners however - but they tend to not always align with everyone's viewpoint.
So it becomes very subjective.
Regardless - Satisfactory is truly - Satisfactory - award or not.
