Update 1.0.1.0 breaks the game
Ok, mods won't work for a bit, fine, no need to complain about that. But when I go in full vanilla and place a power pole or merger (probably a list of other items too), the game simply goes black and quits, that's unacceptable. No work around for this one, all I can do now is wait for a possible fix to this 'fix'.
May I suggest going with beta updates, as optional for those willing to chance it, and once proven stable, release it proper. Making your huge base of players all beta testers, especially in a game that thrives on playing it for 100s of hours, is not a smart way to go. But hey, most are way past the time for getting a refund, so who cares, right?
(admittedly, I am speaking from a place of frustration and disappointment, so my attitude is skewed, but the meaning is still appropriate I believe).

What are your specs? Did you uninstall the mods properly? Never heard of the issue you're describing. Try and verify game files

People are reporting crashing when upgrading or downgrading the power outlets. I have the same issue. Verify games does not fix.

Is there a specific upgrade/downgrade path that does it? On a game that has never been modded, I can do things without issues.

Also the "sliding" when placing walls on pillars doesn't work anymore. Now it snaps to the grid, precision placing is not possible anymore :(

It happens to me too...twice so far today, when upgrading a wall outlet mk. 1 to mk. 2, the game freezes, then unreal 5 crashes. No mods, never had a crash before today...

After today's update, I can't even launch the game without a "out of memory" message appearing. I have plenty of memory and no other applications are active. Something broke.

Do you have your page file set to system managed? A custom page file might be too little while no page file is just bad overall (no, there is no performance gain here).

Same problem here, my first crash in 150hours when upgrading a mk1 power pole to mk3

No problems for me as of yet.

Smooth pioneering here. Try Windows update. Maybe your system needs updating and please post your specs.

I have had consistent crashes today whenever I try to upgrade a power pole in use (mk1 to mk2 or mk2 to mk3) . I've taken to saving before even trying and it crashes more often than it is successful. Attaching a new pole to the line hasn't caused me any problems.

Attaching a wire to a mk2 power pole will build a mk2 power pole. Till they fix he problem I would stick with that method.

Reactivating the beta/test branch would be very useful.
