Conveyors belts vs PC perfomances
Since 1.0 we've had atrocious performances when around conveyor belts, especially in the factory we built before 1.0 that was running well previously.

We're playing on a GTX1070 and a RTX4070 with no significant difference between our games. We've tried all the options we found in the video settings, without success.

Did we miss something? Does anyone has a tip regarding this?

And, can the devs give us some insight on that matter? Months ago Coffee Stain Studios released a video announcing performances improvements in 1.0, that never translated into our games (I mean my friend's and mine, and we got it worst actually). It is possible that we missed something, which is why we need help.

Thank you.

Is the conveyor belts actually GPU or CPU dependent? If you have a lot of conveyor belts and are CPU bound, a GPU will never ever change that.

I cannot tell you as I haven't reached any performance issues myself yet but I haven't really gone crazy with the conveyor belts yet either.

I run a rtx4070 ti with a 5800x R7
My fps is about 90 ish with a few dips after running a while. A reset brings back up to 90 ish.

First I would check to be sure that the Satisfactory EXE file is set to use your high performance GPU by default instead of letting Windows decide. Check Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics for what the the file uses by default.

Generally areas with a lot of production will hit on the FPS. I have made one of these areas myself recently while automating AI expansion servers. Not sure if it was due to still building there or if this is now a permanent feature of my save file but the FPS will dip to 40-ish and stay there until restarting the game.
Not sure why though but maybe something that CSS should look into.

These use both CPU and GPU. What're your CPUs? Also you can change the conveyor belt FPS and render distance now also. I'd lock them at 30 or 60 fps and lower the render distance. These are VERY important settings for a large factory. For a REALLY large one, I'd set the belts to 30fps. That will take a huge load off the CPU & GPU.

Just checked the area and it seems to be related to building in my case. And for those wondering, I was building in that area:

So certainly nothing permanent as the FPS there is now still 60FPS as to what I have limited the FPS to.
