The Endgame SUCKS!!! (Spoilers)
I just made it to the end of the Satifactory campaign. Does not one else hate the Devs for the absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ end of the game they created?! I waited YEARS to play Satisfactory in 1.0 and spent 180 hours of my life to play the game through!

The ending is absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥!!!

I thought the end-game would require me to use approximately the entire map to efficiently harvest resources with which to finish the game. Instead, I'm able to finish the game with a miserable fraction of the map used, and it was EXTREMELY easy!!!

Even worse, the ending tells you NOTHING about why you were sent to the planet and NOTHING about who the aliens are!!!

I seriously cannot FREAKING believe this!!!

This is one of the worst endings in my decade+ of gaming that I've experienced! And I can't believe the Devs actually published this as 1.0. After having so much fun with the Satisfactory early- and mid-game, I'm so utterly disappointed!!! DX

ending was a bit anticlimactic :/ should be able to continue building space ships but with a space elevator with ports enough for ALL items so it can truly be automated.

This.

Then you can get some stats like Ships/min. :lunar2019piginablanket:
Again, why do people think a (good) passive story would harm this game. There is a story here, just not a lot.

Who says it harms the game? There's just little relevance.

I thought more about it. To further my last post, I'd love to be reactivated, and given a new task that forces big production. Like earth had some sort of issue, Please provide 10,000 of x to help save the day!

To the person that was talking about a choice based game, please no, that is why I no longer play BG3.

This game has a story?

So that's why these voices bother me when I'm trying to build a factory.

the devs made a game that you can play as you see fit. I'm doing just that. I love building bases and playing with logistics. I understand there are others that see a game as something to complete (and brag about completing it from many of the posts I have seen here) before moving on to the next thing. And as to mods? Love'em. Modders have added to many of the games I loved playing before this one. What I never did was complain about the devs not doing more.
So play the game as you seem fit and once done with it, move on. I'll be here for a while yet.

Over 4 years into this and I wanted it done too. Problem is, I don't feel it is done.

How many of you assumed those craters were natural?
Well, lets compare it to its peers - what's the ending of Factorio like?

The difference being that Factorio doesn't have half a story in it in the first place.

People would have moaned a lot less about satisfactory if they took out the story altogether, instead of how it currently is.

now go tap all the resource nodes and min-max them, then tell us how easy that will be xD

It's a silly comparison anyways but I hope you see the wide, very obvious, blue crater in your statement about taking it out.

From the start, Satisfactory wanted a handcrafted map with exploration. If you explore and have a static setting...you kinda need some narrative to keep it interesting. That's why it's harder for Satisfactory to get away with a half-baked story.

It wasn't me that compared it to Factorio, I simply pointed out that game has no story at all and doesn't suffer in the least for it. You build and expand because that's the point of the game. Satisfactory would be no different.

Besides, who says you need some sort of narrative? Did you only explore to hear a few more lines of a poorly written story? Did that motivate you at all? I strongly suspect you would be in the minority if so.

Take it out fully or polish and finish it, leaving it half way done is the worst option by far. They obviously ran out of time to do either but people do love their dev videos.

Can someone explain why having a story or lore would make this game worse? That I do not understand. I stopped playing after update 3 because I heard there was going to be this story. They kept promoting the story and then, nothing.

So, some questions?

Why did they take out the story? Financial pressure from their owners or design decision?

If it was a design decision, why? How could that have hurt the game?

Now when I say story, I don't mean missions or other things that would screw up the mechanics.
Here is what you need to know about the story:

How much time did they put into that?

I had the same experience like OP.

I felt the last tier was a joke and my feeling was: "That's it?!?!"
Same about the ending.
No doubt the story is badly written, but calling it "EXTREMELY easy!!!" is comical. Still took you 180 hours and you haven't listed things like deaths, achievements earned, mods / cheats used, people in session, etc. lmao. Nothing that would tell us you actually had an easy time of it as opposed to rage quitting which is what it sounds like.
