Can anyone recommend a good mod that adds building pieces most specifically pipes as they have a cross pipe in the game but looking for alternate pipe set ups where it will do this like T intersections or corners that also allow you to have another pipe going up or don in the corner as well or a full cross pipe section here where pipes go in all 3 dimensions up/down and left and right and then also forward/backward as it were.

Other building pieces would also be good.

Thanks!

Structural Solutions adds walls, frames, etc, but no pipes:
https://ficsit.app/mod/SS_Mod

Fluid Extras adds pipe connectors, including 90° T-junctions;
https://ficsit.app/mod/AB_FluidExtras

I haven't really used them so can't vouch for them, I only played around a bit with Structural Solutions and it does have some cool pieces.

OK thanks as lot of building pieces in the game but also seems like alot of building types are missing so always good to have more options to build with!!!

Side question on this as not modded with this game before. I already have the app installed as found it earlier. To mod the game do I merely install the mod in the manager and then start up the game as I know like Raft you have to actually run a separate EXE file to run the mod file version of the game cause if you use the standard steam game EXE it just loads the vanilla game.

Install the Satisfactory Mod Manager (SMM) app:
https://ficsit.app/

Then simply search for mods and install them from within the app itself and then start the game normally. There is no separate, modded version of the game to run, it's the same game.

SMM lets you create profiles too, so you can have different sets of mods like when you play on a server or co-op with a friend who does not have your mods. SMM disables and enables mods on the fly, in seconds. You just can't have the game running when switching profiles or installing/removing mods. It's one of the easiest mod managers to use that I have ever seen in any game.

Just be aware that if you disable mods and then open a save, all the modded objects will instantly be gone from the save and it's not reversible, so you will need to load another, older save after re-enabling the mods again.

So, I can't stress enough that having regular saves backups is a very good idea when playing with mods.

OK thanks and yeah I save regularly as even in vanilla it can be a big issue if the game crashes and not had a save in awhile though I know for vanilla they have the auto-save but you know what I mean

You're welcome.

I actually meant backing up the whole %LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames\ folder by some means, outside of the game. Even just making a manual copy once a day can be very helpful if something goes wrong, heck, this is a good idea even without mods like the the 1.0.0.5 patch fiasco showed us :/

Edit. The game actually now makes its own backups in:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\FactoryGame\Saved\SaveGames_backup

But it looks like it only happens when you make a manual save, autosaves are not backed up. So, if you make frequent manual backups this may be sufficient, though I'm not 100% sure how reliable this is.

Sub question to this. So I got the mod manager installed and found the 2 mods you suggested and clicked the install buttons on both and I do see them both in the games mod folder. But when I run the game I don't see these new items in my build options. Being I have several in gave profiles do I need to link it to the current one or does it tag onto the most recent one automatically as I don't seem to have anything new in the build menu.

If they are in the mod folder then they are installed. Installed mods are available in all in-game sessions and saves automatically.

Many mods require to be unlocked in the Hub like all other tech before they're available and their content is scattered across Tiers. Maybe these do too?

I'll check that right now and get back to you didn't think of that figured being mods they would be auto available but will check now and let you know one way or the other.

Just so you know also that pipe mod has all the joints I wanted and then some all sorts of angles and turns and such well worth looking at more!!!

Oh yeah, the Awesome Store too, some even are unlocked in MAM too. Cool :) Enjoy! The pipe junctions look cool, just installed that myself.

yeah neither of these mods seem to be in the mam as I have everything in the MAM unlocked except the last one of the Alien items being Singularity Cells otherwise everything else is unlocked and nothing new was added in the MAM to unlock so seems to be just the store and hub upgrades

Right, not these mods, I just meant, in general, that some mods can have their content locked behind MAM research too, not just the Hub and the Store, Infinite Zoop and Refined Power do, for example.

BTW, since you're modding, keep Infinite Nudge in mind. It lets you nudge vertically, nudge and turn in tiny increments and nudge without limits. It also nudges miners and extractors and pretty much everything else in the game too. So, if you're into building, this mod can be extremely useful. And its effects remain even after the mod itself is removed since it only manipulates existing objects.

OK cool will check that one out as well. y case mainly looking for QOL type mods to improve the building aspects as being tier 9 now am sort of redoing everything and putting color to it and trying to make sure things all mesh properly meaning no items overlapping and such trying to make a nice look factory! So the more options I have the better!
