You'll need to have both the area where the miner will appear and the node itself visible on the screen at the same time; I believe the placement algorithm uses a raycast from the player to the node to determine whether the node is accessible or not.
Surprisingly enough, this is not necessary. I seem to recall that it was, at one point, but this is no longer a requirement.
- You have the parts.
- A resource node. No node, can not be place. For best placement, in the middle as possible.
- Can be place on a foundation as long it is not high (less than 2 m )
Not at all true; I place them on 4m foundations all the time. The requirement is actually that you must be able to see the node in order to place a miner on it.
Interesting as I place miners all the time on nodes I can't see anymore as I covered with foundations first. Miners still snap to nodes just fine.
True enough; perhaps the requirement is that one of those conditions must be true. Or perhaps the requirements are something else entirely, and it is only our perception that these rules exist.
Have a little walk around when you find a mine , i found a coal mine and whilst dodging some of those stupid animals i found another coal deposit just behind some trees so i was able to link the 2 to 1 conveyor.
Dumbest thing i seen .... i found a caterium mine but was unable to place a miner down because their was a huge rock in the middle of it.
this "huge rock" can be remoed with explosivs (called nobelisk c4 or something like that) which can be researched in the MAM...
