Miner not placeable
Hi, admittedly I'm in modinng mode in this game. It bothers me that I can no longer place a miner and wonder what this does. Can anyone help me? Thanks and greetings to everyone who shares this beautiful game with me.

Only help anyone can provide is telling you to disable the mods. Sounds like a crappy mod that blocks miner placement

Did you destroy the little rock in the middle of a resource node by hand?

Or did you place foundations over the node that are too tall for the miner to work through?

If you placed foundations over the entire node, you may not be able to target the node any more. Try removing a foundation or two, then target the node itself instead of where the miner should be.

You'll need to have both the area where the miner will appear and the node itself visible on the screen at the same time; I believe the placement algorithm uses a raycast from the player to the node to determine whether the node is accessible or not.

Surprisingly enough, this is not necessary. I seem to recall that it was, at one point, but this is no longer a requirement.

The conditions for a mine t be place : Same principles for mods.

- You have the parts.
- A resource node. No node, can not be place. For best placement, in the middle as possible.
- Can be place on a foundation as long it is not high (less than 2 m )

Not at all true; I place them on 4m foundations all the time. The requirement is actually that you must be able to see the node in order to place a miner on it.

Interesting as I place miners all the time on nodes I can't see anymore as I covered with foundations first. Miners still snap to nodes just fine.

True enough; perhaps the requirement is that one of those conditions must be true. Or perhaps the requirements are something else entirely, and it is only our perception that these rules exist.

Speaking as a noobie .... compared to others on here , i only have 203 hours use i find that some miners are very buggy , some work without the portable miner , i always carry 2 , if you try to make more they seem to vanish ? ..... some miners even randomly work without a power line.

Have a little walk around when you find a mine , i found a coal mine and whilst dodging some of those stupid animals i found another coal deposit just behind some trees so i was able to link the 2 to 1 conveyor.

Dumbest thing i seen .... i found a caterium mine but was unable to place a miner down because their was a huge rock in the middle of it.

this "huge rock" can be remoed with explosivs (called nobelisk c4 or something like that) which can be researched in the MAM...

Was having the same problem, went through and disabled mods one by one and then re-enabled them, Turns out that a mod called Omni World was causing the problem.
