Take it now or wait the 1.0?
Hey, I've been interested in this game for years, but I keep putting off buying it because it never feels like the right time.

I want to get it, but I recently learned that version 1.0 will be released at the end of the year.. what do you recommend?

Should I buy it and play it now, or wait for the full version in a few months?

Thanks in advance.

I would recommend buying now if you can. And 1.0 will be released on Sept 10th this year. So less than two months to go. I would buy now and learn the basics, so your ready to go with 1.0. This is just MHO.

Wait for it, it's a great game but if you're unsure even after following it for years you should probably just wait to see how 1.0 is.

If you're gonna buy it anyway I would see if it happens to be on sale before 1.0 gets released and if so have a small "test run" to learn basics before launch and then start your "real game" when it launches.

If there is no sale then just get it at launch and hop in blind :P

You should get it now cause they're about to raise the price

My favorites games in chronological order: Treasure of Tarmin, Zelda (Gold), Pool of Radiance, Planescape: Torment, Neverwinter Nights (AOL version), Everquest, Minecraft, Pillars of Eternity, Satisfactory. That's it. This game made the list.

If you buy it now you'll be getting it at a price it might not be at again for a long time if at all (look at Mirrors Edge). In any case I don't suggest playing it until 1.0 comes out because a lot of the recipes will be changing and some other things that will mean you have to rebuild or modify parts of the your factory.

Then the question then is: if it turns out you don't like it, would steam still give you a refund two months after purchase and still less than 2 hours of game-play?

I'd say buy it now, and get some experience with the mechanics. Don't worry about the recipes or node locations. Play it get build up a foundation of your playstyle. Then when 1.0 comes out you are just that much more ready for 1.0.

Even though I have a ton of time on it already, I'm expirementing with new ideas to my mall. Some lighting tweaks, some storage tweaks. Some routing tweaks. And other stuff like.

Buy it now and experiment! Starting over is half the fun for me!

Imagine how great this game would be with dynamic maps!

You can spend thousands of hours before you exhaust the possibilities of the current map.

Take it now as price will rise to 40 pretty soon....
There could be some discounts, but it will based on base price of 40...
so even you'll pay the same now (no discount) then in future if up to 25% discount of 40 euros

With the plus of starting the game now

The game is very much worth it.

Thank you as well. I've been dabbling with multiple genres and the exploring-crafting-buildy genre is something I've not really explored yet. Fingers crossed I can drag my friend into it for some co-op fun.
