Where will you start in 1.0?
I've been playing Rocky Desert primarily for my game starters.. I love it. Plenty of iron, enough copper, lots of coal.

I am however considering picking a different starting location, just for a change of scenery.

What are your planned starting locations, and why?

Just like in my current save: Grasslands.
And my HUB will also be placed in the same place with a nice look to the big waterfalls and Paradise Island.

I also like Rocky Desert, but my first save was in Grasslands which is alright as well (though more trees to worry about, unless you go vertical from the start), so I like that too. In the last few saves I started in the Rocky Desert but then quickly built a road and a long belt down to Grasslands and expanded there.

Though I know I should do something different for a change :) Maybe the Dune Desert because Northern Forest looks like pain.

Also, you don't have to stick to one of the four start areas. Pick any one of them just to spawn and then just walk wherever you want to start building. If you disable aggressive animals then there is nothing stopping you from walking anywhere on the island and starting wherever you want.

There is no "extreme nerf" and nothing will suck. They removed only like around 20 nodes and decreased 10 nodes but then added lots of new nodes, like 50 or more, so not really sure what your problem is?

Wouldnt say extreme nerf but yes certainly nerfed for good reason,

However i'd say the grass fields is a great one now since quartz and sulfur nodes will be added around there.

On the topic of nodes, where can I find the map with the new locations and stuff for the nodes in 1.0 again? IIRC something was said about that at some point but I forgot when and where exactly.

Hang on, someone posted a link to Snutt's Google Drive. Try to search the forum, if not I'll put them up somewhere.

Thanks, was just searching for it.
Edit: Ooooohhh, a new Caterium node in the grass fields. And it seems the old one close to it won't be removed. Nice.

I'm going to checkout for a cave with enough nodes nearby when 1.0 drops.

But I hope they fix the bug where vehicles disappear from a cave. I paved a whole cave, built a nice base in it, just to find out that none of my vehicles would stay there :(

Not sure. I'm almost undoubtedly going to go with either the Grass Fields or Rocky Desert, but with the node changes the question is which one? Especially the added coal nodes on the north west shore, that's extremely appealing for when I get coal power.

Maybe I'll try out the Northern Forest for a change of pace. Dune Desert is rather unlikely.
