I really think they should add this, as large portions of hte game involve waiting for stuff to craft, would be nice to just watch a youtube vid or something while it runs in the backgrounds, without having to listen to the music or idle sounds of machinery.

I turn off the in game music, so I just get the machines. I lower the master volume so the YT video is louder, the churn of the machines I don’t mind.

Muting the game aside, I never had to wait a single minute when playing this game. There is always stuff to do, if you're just waiting around for stuff to craft you're doing something wrong. Waiting is definitely not a part of playing Satisfactory, you should never have to do that.

This is just the way you choose to 'play', many try not to waste time..

In Windows, once you've alt-tabbed away, open the 'Volume Mixer' and mute Satisfactory by hitting the speaker icon in the appropriate column. You can also just lower the volume for the ap, so you still have some audible indicator that the game's ready to go back to (e.g., the chiink chiink [apparently the correct spelling needs to be censored] stops).
