Satisfactory 1.0 update changes, should I start now?
Hi all just wondering how much I can expect the 1.0 update to change the game. I am wanting to start a playthrough but am unsure whether if I start now it would be drastically different than if I started in two weeks.

Or whether the update predominantly impacts the endgame so I can freely start without diminishing my experience once the update comes?

0 Hours played, is it worth waiting for 1.0?
Hi There,

I bought the game a few months ago but I haven't even had time to try it out, not even the main menu.

I know absolutely nothing about the game, I've only seen a couple of videos / trailers that made me discover the game and that's it.

Now I have free time, I wonder if it's worth to start with it, or wait for the 1.0, I've read that there will be major changes and maybe it doesn't make sense to learn ‘obsolete’ mechanics at just less than a month before the 1.0 release.

Regards

None of the basic mechanics will be obsolte. The major changes are mostly for end-game recipes and alt recipes. AFAIK nothing should really change in the early game (till phase 2 of space elevator).
So you can start and get the hang of it and then really start with 1.0.

You can fire it up and just have a look around. 1.0 will not be drastically different, though there will be many changes so that existing factories may not work properly or at all in 1.0 and the lore and the narrative will change significantly. You can get the hang of basic mechanics and controls, most of what you learn will work in 1.0. But yeah, three weeks to release it's not worth starting anything complex.

It really is a personal choice.

You will find yourself starting a game, messing up, restarting a new game, probably several times.

It would be worth doing this whilst still in EA. Then, when 1.0 drops, you're ready to rock

Give it a go! You'll start over a few times anyway. The basic principles won't change much and are well worth knowing in advance. You might even be lucky and can keep your factory running with only minor changes If you start in the grasslands. Only the current best place will become a bit worse, but you don't want to start in tiny places for a first save anyway.

You do you. But know this, once you start, that 0 hours will turn into 500, in like a week, don't question my math.

No reason not to start now to get the hang of the basic mechanics and see how things work and interact.

I'm waiting.

Resource distribution is also changing.

I'm not going to invest into a world that is changing in a couple weeks. It's not like the world is ending or this game is about to be canceled. The game will be there come September 1st to play.

I can wait.

To be fair in the first few hours of gameplay you learn quite a bit about what NOT to do.
So just having a 2-5 hour test run that you abandon and start fresh when 1.0 comes is perhaps not a bad idea.

It's worth starting to get familiar with what does and does not make for good strategy, just know update 8 is a broken steaming pile and will give you all kinds of issues (update 7 ran great) but will still give you a feel for what the game will be just keep in mind stuttering and locking and other crap like that should be better in 1.0 as they have promised lots of optimization

i defintly recomend playing thi game, its good. i dont think many games are called satisfactory here so that sets it apart. but not from what you saidthough so yeah, really just play iguess andsee. but i wold play it if i were you. heh

I say start playing now, get used to the world and it's mechanics. The only change that might affect your game when 1.0 is released is the removable of some of the resources nodes which only depends on where you start and how big your factories get before 1.0.
