Pipeline cross junktion & belt/pipe snap problem
The problem is that it doesn't be straight to the power plant. I don't know what it's based on!? Rotate with Ctrl changes nothing. The pipe I want to connect goes straight into the power plant so why it places itself wrong? How can I solve this?

And the other problem is one that is not solved until today. The belts/pipes snap onto the center of buildings with multiple in-/outputs instead onto the in-/outputs left and right when I press Ctrl to snap into the right position. That's annoying. Any thoughts on that?

I would assume the system for snapping is confused by the offset/circle foundations you placed. There is nothing wrong with that, but it can confuse the snapping logic. One thing you might try...

Place foundations vertically down from the one you are trying to line it up with, remove the top one and then use a barricade on the lower foundation you placed. Then try placing the T Junction onto the barricade you placed. That should let the T Junction snap to that barricade instead of the invisible snap it is trying to make.

Not sure if that makes sense. Good luck!

On the center snapping.. that is very strange. You should be able to hold control, and it should line up with the output or input.

Try putting the belt onto the output/input first, then drag out to where you want the belt to go instead of placing on the foundation first.

Are you using mods? Maybe there is a mod that is causing problems with your building.

I think I see the problem, It's the curve you are doing... it's trying to line up with the foundation that is canted, causing the Junction to freak out.

This is best I could come with.

Basically you need the t-cross ground level, and have the Belts above the Pipe.

Thanks a lot for all your answers. :critterbig:

I tested your suggestion and removed all foundations, so that the coal generator was "flying" above the water. Still not straight alignment to it. Also I built two more to test it on solid ground. The only time it straightens perfectly was when I used the global grid as basis for building. Build on foundations not aligned to the global grid ends also to be not aligned to the coal generator.

Sorry, but I don't get what you mean. Also the junctions are placed horizontally by default and I need the in-/outputs up-/downwards. Also a thing which many players complain about (that you aren't able to rotate on the y axis too).

My solution now is that I build a pipe in front of the coal generator, place the junction on that in the right position, remove the pipe and connect it all afterwards. Very time intensive and annoying.

And here is another phenomenon which I came across using my method. When I try to snap it into the correct position, the game let me do it horizontically, two times with an angle of 45° but in vertical alignment it suddenly snaps to the center of the building. So I have to bring it manually into the right position by eye. I know, that is no great deal, but it's curious (and again annoying).

Your images are set private, in that last post.
Yeah, forgot to mention in the image of the circle of coals gens that the x-cross won’t face the right way at some places if you use them, like you did.
If you put them in foundation level they do snap in place, you would just have to run the belts over the pipes or have a sub-floor, and run the coal from underneath.

As for the pipeline problem, your problem is that your spatial position is too high up: if you put your feet back on the ground, the pipeline will be able to find its attachment.

Yes we can see the images.
The is kinda limitation the game has, as thing just sometimes don'r wanna work.

March 2025, long after V1 release & after at least a few updates:
Non-snapping of Pipeline Junctions to pipes of any aligned altitude (with or without Stackable Pipeline Support), still exists?

It's very game-breaking.

I would've thought this was an ESSENTIAL UPDATE, a most important game functionality requirement. I'll keep searching for info & help about this...

Blueprints -won't be available- unless folders are done right, the research matches player, player has previously made a blueprint, etc etc etc.

Otherwise DEVS PLEASE FIX. Thx.

Everything else snaps yes? So PLEASE fix this little but most critically important gameplay function. Thx.

Furthermore they changed the hitbox of the coal generators so it's not longer possible to build narrow "power circles". With the new hitboxes the distances between the generators have to be so big that the radius of the circle gets considerable bigger. So there are less places to build them. I like that it's now possible to build generators above each other. But why extend the hitboxes? Since Update 1.0 I lost more and more interest in playing it. Until then I had 2000 hours ingame and (almost) every minute was fun.

I know, I know: "So then simply build them not." That's not the point. I simply can't see any reason to extend the hitboxes. It was fine.

P.S.: Also the Explorer is still bouncy as hell. Completely unrealistic driving characteristics. The tiniest stone lets you lift off 10 meters and makes you to do a flip! Ridiciolous! Please restore it like it was before the 0.8(?) update.
