Dedicated server issues
Hi, I haven't been able to get a dedicated server working since update 8. Does anyone actually KNOW the minimum cpu generation required for a dedicated server? I am wondering if it changed after update 8 and my older server can't support it.

It just crashes on creating a new save (Have tried on a Windows 10 VM, Ubuntu VM (both with CPU type set to host), and another old PC with Windows 10 running natively on the hardware.

Any help is appreciated.

The Wiki says that a i5-3570, but with 12GB RAM, is enough to run the server for the default 4 players, not in a VM though:) I'm running on i5-7500, but I'm just testing, no other players connected and there is barely any CPU usage when I'm connected.

I've no idea what hardware you need to run it in a VM and what VM software are supported.

Many mods will crash the server though.

Its an old DL380 HP server, but it worked fine, I would throw 12 cores and 32GB at it, and everything was fine. Then after the first or second patch (after update 8 hit experimental), I couldn't get it to work. So I was trying again last night, fresh OS guest install, new dedicated server install, but it still just crashes when you try and create a new game.

So what is the CPU in the "old server"? I've run he dedicated server so far on three different PCs with zero problems.

Also, the server does not care about core count. It prefers a single fast core. Throwing cores at it will not improve anything.
