No, and none is planned. Though you can play using Steam Input.

Really? Absolutely none?

Bummer.

It’s not off the table completely, just don’t expect it for 1.0

Why bummer? It's so awesome for all with keyboard and mouse - finally a game which is really made for keyboard and mouse. Just perfect. Hurray!

The steam input is pretty damn good. (trashcan's I think). You will still need the keyboard for basic stuff, nudging, build options, map, ect. The sensitivity for horizontal needs to be sped up, easily adjustable(steam, not game setting). I think I have 600hrs or more, all controller and keyboard. Two buttons unused on controller still, never got around to assigning them.
Does the game support controllers? No. I it playable with one, absolutely.

Honest question:

Why does a lack of official support matter?

There are umpteen different controllers on the market with umpteen different ways to (re)map their controls in virtually unlimited configurations.

So why the fuss about official support? What is missing otherwise?

Having controller supportt does help. Adding an API for steam controller would make mapping a lot easier - plus steamdeck users would also benefit.

It did have some support, but they withdrew it in a patch some time ago.

And I tried to play Elden Ring last week. It's made for controllers and so aqward with keyboard and mouse that I had to stop. Alone in this year in four other games the same story. A lot of wasted money. There are a zillion of games out there which are quasi reserved for controller players.

I am very glad and very grateful that Satisfactory is only for keyboard and mouse.

Thank you, Devs!

How does it affect your enjoyment of the game in any way if they add controller support for those who want it?

because non official support doesnt discriminate between being in a menu or being in first person, also because they said controller support was coming when I bought the game when it released on egs, because if its so easy theres no point in no making it themselves instead of asking everyone to spend the time to do it, because devs going back on their decision and over the years giving different excuses is simply disgusting

it wouldnt change a thing for keyboard users, its an additionnal way to control the game, rofl, what a bunch of gatekeeping elitist against accessibility

I don’t care if the add it, but not if it delays 1.0, as it’s not that important. I’m glad they went KB+M 1st and foremost, and was like we’ll do Controllers if we can.

Too many PC games Have been crippled, removing features previous titles had, because of Controller support.

Every time I buy a good game and then can't play it comfortably because it was made for a console with a controller in mind, do I go to the forums wailing? Start insulting? Demand that they change steering and mapping so I can better play it with my input devices? I just accept it and write it off.

What do you think entitles you to come to this game, which works perfectly for keyboard and mouse, and do all this fuss, demands and insulting?

Write it off, be a man! Play one of the zillion console games or ported games which clearly favor the steering with a controller.

Because they promised the support at launch which is why I bought it and they came back on that, that's what entitles me to whine about it. Refund me my game and I'll go play something that has controller support with the money. You could have easily read that in my other answer, but you decided to double down on the elitist gatekeeping against accessibility and devs going back on promised accessibility options screwing people who believed them and helped fund their game.
